Someone once tried to hand me their slobbering snotty baby while we were visiting my in-laws. I actually had to get up gesticulating wildly and leave the room whilst saying Nope because the father was So Fucking insistent that he gave me an anxiety attack because how many fucking times does one have to say No thanks in a diplomatic way to his snobbering snotty baby.

I like kids. But yup- they’re gross little savages.
And you shouldn’t have them unless you can manage the grossness and you’re going to put in the effort to socialize them and make them kind, intelligent, well-mannered people.
I feel the same way about bad parents as I do about bad dog owners- I’m NOT obliged to like or tolerate a badly behaved dog OR child- and I have zero patience for anyone who unleashes either on the world.
