At a car wash/convenience store/gas station in South Portland, ME, one feckless moron somehow screws up the simple act of backing out of a parking spot, destroys a gas pump, starts a fire and flees the scene.

In all fairness, she had to poop really bad.

Hey, you cannot judge anyone for 'fleeing the scene' after putting gas station on fire

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Meanwhile, at another gas station...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was this regular speed? That thing went 0 to 60 in 2.3 seconds.

That’s my car wash! Damn you, 2020!

Judging by the missing front bumper he's a repeat offender

Nice one

In all my years of driving I have no idea how people do stuff like that.

Straight to jail gif

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

he was trying to 1) back up with no rear view mirror. 2) hold X-large slurpie 3) put in a coffee stirrer straw all w one hand...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Missing both front&rear bumpers from before aswell? Ye that's def not his first rodeo.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of times people will take a second to collect themselves and decide whether or not to flee the scene, but this guy did not hesitate!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This video makes me think of those toy cars you pull back and then release to go forward.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thing's got some pick up...

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Akchualy it’s an SUV

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Video is sped up. Check the time in the top corner. Seconds are moving fast

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Whoever designed those guard posts wasn't expecting someone to come at the pump perpendicularly

5 years ago | Likes 203 Dislikes 0

eh, life. finds a way.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He did not hit them, they might have held.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nah, those are portable plastic, not proper permanent bollards.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Perpendicularly is a great word. Providing you don't try to say it fast three times in a row, that is.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

And cue the theme from Benny Hill!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Must have been a Nitrous station. That truck flew!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is why they can't be trusted to pump their own gas

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

That’s Connecticut

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oregon too. And I still can't get used to it. My car requires premium so I always have to double check the pump.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was reading quick and saw Portland and my brain put it in OR not Maine. I actually know exactly where that gas station is

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is that Cunningham?!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

v how is this next to this?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

he's done that a couple of times before

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can't help but notice the entire front bumper is gone too. I'm thinking the 'somehow' is booze. Lots and lots of booze.

5 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 1

These explorers have a weak roof over the drivers side, so if drunk they’ll meet their match one day

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah I think the only mystery on the "somehow" is booze or drugs or both... and how much lol

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

How far back they pulled before cutting tge wheel says "impaired" to me

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unless the video was sped up, that acceleration is on McLaren level, wtf

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The clock in the upper left counts 10s, but this clip only lasts 5s. The video is playing at double speed.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He got a boost from it tho, so yea I guess

5 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 0

Your lucky that 100 shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake

Holy shit, that's right down the street from me! I was literally there today. No, that is not me. Looks like a few hours before I was there.

Seems pretty sus

"I was out of town when all that shit went down" - a likely story!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can you account for your whereabouts, at 6:19 PM?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

On the 21st night of September?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most likely I was on here making comments. Imgur is my alibi.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That fire started almost immediately.. wth?

5 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 3

surprising it didn't explode

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Gas vapors light easily at virtually any temperature.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Were you unaware that fuel is flammable?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Probably because of the hot exhaust components.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Also possibly the metal of the pump scraping the concrete created sparks

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Electric components in the pump had their wiring torn and possibly shorted along with sparks produced by steel parts rubbing on concrete

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Turns out gas is super flammable

5 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

But can it melt steel beams?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The video is also sped up

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Maybe they should make gas less flammable. Like add more water to it?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or just stop using it. Situation couldn't even really occur, if we all had electric cars.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well I mean electricity is flammable too. Electrical fires are a leading cause of home fires.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but then how does the 1% make money? Won’t someone think of the billionaires?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i like how they should be easy to find. theres only about 3 of that generation of explorer still on the road since cash for clunkers.

5 years ago | Likes 442 Dislikes 0

We don't know if they actually fled. Video ended. Could have been trying to get to a safe distance from a potential explosion?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

First time I've seen an Exploder when the fire wasn't in/on the vehicle.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Surprised the transmission still works on that Exploder.

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Probably what caused that

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It went back into Drive though. Maybe it was the crappy clutch spring in the limited slip diff slipping and heating up. Hahaha

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not in Texas. I still service these at least a few times a week.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Without a front bumper and a charred back end!

5 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 0

That doesn't really narrow it down much

5 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Lol got 3 slides away and had to come back and uproot this

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

it's funny because it implies they are all in that state

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I looked to see if your username was @IExplainJokes

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

don't need a dedicated username to have fun

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This footage has to be sped up, there's no way an exploder can move that fast

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The whole video is double speed. The clock in the upper left counts 10s, but this clip only lasts 5s.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thought the same thing. Definitely sped up.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, I see you know the nickname too. Fire probably started because the transmission exploded on impact.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The worst thing to ever happen. Worse part 15 yrs later mpg has only gone up ~5 average.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 8

Helped me get a better job with reliable transport, extra taxes I pay paid it back, but I guess I'm just looking for a handout right?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

15 up to 20. 35 up to 40. Sounds good to me.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mean yeah it was a bad idea, but I think I can probably come up with 1-2 things in history that were worse.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Just maybeee. The thing I hate is 15k was avg price 15yrs ago, now it's 30k. Used cars go no less than 20k. Yet wages haven't grown at all.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Learn to haggle, my dude. Last 2 cars I bought I paid 25% and 70% of the asking price.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where are you that used is so expensive? Dealership or private seller?
