I can't help it.

I can't help it.

I know a lot of people will think that its fucked up but religious people just come off a little gullible to me.

religion

That's not a confession. I should know, I'm religious.

I'm a Christian and I have to admit feeling this way sometimes.

Not so bad. When people start talking, I think less of them

It's because light travels faster than sound. At first they appear bright but then the stupid sound reaches you.

That's fucked up

meh, I don't really care what people believe. If they're good people that's what ultimately counts in my opinion.

And this is also my metric for whether their worldview is problematic. Believing in fairytales>Being insensitive to others, OP.

I feel like I would get along with you.

Probably not. I'm not a good person.

Nobody SHOULD think less of anybody for anything but their character. Doesn't mean that's always the case, but you should always try.

Doesn't religion dictate what a person's character is to a large extent though? Just playing devil's advocate... (pun intended)

For many people, religions come and go as they discover themselves and decide how they want to live their life. It doesn't define them.

For casuals (for lack of a better word) I suppose, but isn't the main point of religion to deliver a 'how-to' for living and thinking?

2/2 Ex. Don't kill, turn the other cheek, say prayer, give to charity, don't judge, be kind to the needy etc...

People believe in science in much the same way that they believe/d in religion. Just accepting it on faith without bothering to understand

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not true, with science as long as one understands the process and the source is verified one doesn't need all the nuts and bolts to 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

accept the conclusions, otherwise it would be extremely cumbersome and nothing would get done 2/2

But what if it was proven a long time ago that the world was created by a turtle laying an egg?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

just like acid rain was proven, vaccines were proven to cause autism, butter was proven to make you fat and tv would blind you.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ok, acid rain real, butter can make you fat if you eat too much of it and don't exercise, the others are pseudo science

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All of then were "proven" to the public eye and were preached as doctrine is the point I am trying to make. Science is great but it doesn't/

Also I don't know how old you are but in school I was taught how acid rain was going to dissolve cars and butter was avoided at all costs
