Goonies was filmed in Astoria, Oregon, which is located at the mouth of the Columbia River. The other side of the river is Washington. Pretty much the exact same sort of coastline.

I live in the PNW. This is how it looks all the time. Foggy, cloudy, rainy, and many of our "beaches" are rocks, not sand.
That said, it's a beautiful coastline, and I spend a lot of time out there.

Erm... I mean everyone should stay away. Bigfoot is a terrible houseguest and will piss in your coffee. It rains all the time. There are roaming packs of gender police force femming tourists.
