I remembered seeing a crazy post about people discovering super old food lying around their family's cupboards.
Browsing through the pantry while dog sitting for my mom...
Hmm. What do we have here? This looks rather old...
Wow. 17-18 year old Malt-o-Meal. That's older than many Imgurians out there.
But really, the most startling and confusing realization I ran into when finding this, isn't that it's really old. Like expired long enough ago to be able to legally smoke or join the Army. No, the thing that hit me the most is- she has moved twice since then. Like, full on gone through every item in the house, decided what to keep and what to toss. And these things got packed twice. Unpacked twice. They followed us between 3 houses and two states. All while being 100% expired.
TL/DR: I found some old food. Neat huh?

Food does not expire, it goes bad. Dry food, stored properly, can keep a long time. If it is not full of bugs, it is probably still edible.

Honestly.... it wasn't that bad. They didn't mix right, it all stayed kinda separated, but... I expected worse. Tossed em now though :P
