Hi, yes, stealing these as well. Thanks. +1

You are a saint, a god amongst men. I have to scrape by an throw together a bunch of mismatched assets from Roll20 half the time

My group decided to start playing D&D 2 weeks ago. The guy that wanted to DM bailed both times. So, our regular GM took over. Great fun!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Our regular GM usually runs Star Wars Edge of the Empire games as he prefers to GM sci-fi. He did a great job for an off the cuff game.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish I could put that much effort into D&D

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So I’m afraid to ask but...is this game basically chess combined with lord of the rings type shit ??

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

fyi: https://imgur.com/Fy8m3Cd also, I went back and upvoted each, I forgot favorite doesn't upvote anymore

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Every single time I've seen these maps, it looks like the tower defense flash games I play.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You may want to find the sources for these. Some of these are *not* free. I recognize a number of them by Michael Tumey

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm stealing this

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

D&D ressources?!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Reaction gifs?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your username?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish I could play fortnite too

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I saw the first pic and recognized it from The Red Hand campaign’s first encounter. I’m clearly a nerd.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ooo!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just started a D&D 5e campaign,Those will make fine additions to my collection.

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Same!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've killed goblins on some of these maps.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Definitely gonna steal some of these. Thanks for sharing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd love the map posts if the pictures weren't so often squared. It fucks up using them on Roll20.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You don't need squares even to play IRL. Just use something to measure the distances. Sigh.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is an option to stop the image from snapping to the grid so you can measure it yourself on Roll20, but it doesn't work with every map.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Uh, yeah, if you've ever used Roll20 you know you're never going to be able to align those squares together. It's faster to make a new map.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I primarily play on Roll20 and managed to align them up with a couple of maps. Those that couldn't align, I just remove the Roll20 grid.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve recently started running a lot of stuff on Roll20. Having high-quality maps adds so much to he experience. So thanks!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I played the hell out of D&D in the 80’s but now I’m all like: “D&D is just analog Skyrim...”

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I played the ehll out of it in the 80's too! But I still play. And I have spawned more gamers! Mwahahaaa!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Our last game was mid-campaign in ‘93; then everyone suddenly got married & had babies. My PC, Serbus Grout, is still camped on that volcano

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh man! I made sure I married a guy who games. And now my son is an avid gamer. My daughter will play Call of Cathulhu but not D&D. sigh.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

when i made some more maps i will make a dump of my best quality ones :-)

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Following you for that one

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are some apps you might want to try: 5E Squire, 5 Complete Reference and D&D Beyond. Also RPG Dice Roller if you need/want it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

D&D Beyond SERIOUSLY pissed me off when I realized what all you have to buy to really use it. I own the books, I'm not paying $26 for a pdf.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean i'm all for it but... why the sudden influx of DND posts?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would love to learn to play D&D

8 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 0

Can you roll dice and pretend to be dwarf? if so you're already two thirds of the way there

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Roll20 is an online app that will let you learn without actually having to go out and physically meet with groups

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Check out the Gauntlet community for what it probably the best, most accepting gaming community out there. They do a lot with online gaming!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Come to Oregon I’ll teach you to play. Lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This might help you: https://www.rpgtablefinder.com/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

me too

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do it!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You stand on a thin beam above the burning city. D'vont advances towards you with scimitar drawn and hate in her eyes. Your action?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Can she fly, hover, or use any other method to get off the beam?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She can shadow teleport. You... are a champion, a sort of a rogue/paladin cross. Healing and stealth and such. So you can probably do /

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

/acrobatic stuff.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you want to learn how to play on a general level, check Robot Chicken DND video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jAe42mv0h8&t=1s

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And for the DM Chris Perkins' commentary for the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HA92_Hp04Sk

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't mind me, just a passing dot.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

By all means. It's always interesting to hear how the DM sees the game and how he comes up with the decisions he makes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's D&D 4th edition so some of the rules are different but the overall feel of the game is still the same, as to how to go and start gaming

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For game system I'd suggest either D&D 5th edition or Pathfinder (it's basically revised D&D 3.5 edition, also more complex than 5th).

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Words of note: Your enjoyment will lean greatly on depending if you have a good GM or not. A poor one can really ruin it for new players.1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1But that said, it's easy, especially 5e. You'll have a firm grasp of it by the end of your first session.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's awesome! Here's an excellent resource for finding a group https://geekandsundry.com/finding-a-dd-group-how-do-you-want-to-do-this/

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These are alright for playing in person, but typically it's a hell of a lot easier to find a game on roll20.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Agreed! roll20 is fabulous!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or just check out Roll20

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm gonna eat all the downvotes for this, but I would suggest trying something way lighter than D&D for your 1st game.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Oh like Pathfinder :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Why? DnD, let alone 5e, is a cake walk compared to most other PnP systems, like Rifts. They're designed to be easily taught.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

RIFTS is about the only system I'd put above D&D in complexity so a hearty LOL from me on picking that as your counterexample.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

AW, FATE, Fragged Empire, & Shadows of the Demon Lord are all leagues lighter and way tighter in design. That's just off the top of my head.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think D&D 5e is relatively easy to pick up. What system would you suggest?

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I would suggest something like Apocalypse World (or whatever *W sounds fun), maybe FATE depending on how you like to roll dice. Depends...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...on what exactly they're looking for in a game, really. D&D is really only good for a couple kinds of game at most.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most RPG group's I've been in quite after a handful of sessions. I'd recommend using pre-made characters for a couple dungeon dives to start
