My work cafeteria has taken away all joy from the term taco Tuesday. Those tacos are flavor voids. It doesn't matter what you put in them, it will taste like tortillas. $10 for three and a side. Psychological and emotional damages are deserts

The best burger place I know of is $15 for a bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg and spicy waffle fries.

Hell yeah. Fuck yeah.

Rich people food is, by and large, really gross.

Because rich people believe that expensive = good, and cannot fathom that not being the case with their gross, garbage food.

Tonight I paid over $2000 for some under seasoned carnitas, pinto beans and rice. Hospital food just isn't worth the price.

I normally have very simple and down to earth tastes. It infuriates me when I finally decide to splurge on something expensive and it's nothing special. That money could have been spent on something I actually enjoyed, with cash left over...

A friend of mine says the cost is about the service which I fail to see or am unable to appreciate. The staff at the $100-a-plate restaurants aren't being anymore attentive than the Chili's staff... maybe I look like a small tip.

I have friends who enjoy going to expensive restaurants and eating really good food. I can't do that. Even if it's all very good .. still 200 bucks I'll only enjoy for a few minutes? There's plenty I can buy or do with that money that'll last longer

I haven’t had an excellent meal in a restaurant in years I keep hoping …. And these are some 4 star restaurants I’m talking about

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That might be the issue. Michelin stars only go up to 3 so these 4 star places may not be legit.

Rated Yelp, open table etc. we have been to Gorgon Ramsey restaurants, French Lsundry, may highly rated in Wine County CA

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry to hear that! Hope you have better experiences in the future! If not, do a trip through Italy and you can eat well anywhere as long as you’re not too close to the major tourist attractions.

i make my own food and im rarely disappointed

Had fried cod at a Cameron Mitchell place. Not bad at all, but TINY... like the size of a credit card and 1/2 inch thick. BUT, the best fish in my life was a place on Lake Erie that had picnic tables inside.

It's betrayal

Wait until you start couponing for real and not because it's fun.

The enshitification of fast food is real. Burger chains are getting worse. For the price of the ingredients of a real nice steak dinner you can have burnt mystery meat burger topped with the finest Taylor Farms lettuce, cold fries and a cup of ice with a dash of soda.

barely worth it to eat out anymore

I hate the worst sandwich in my entire life. It was a smoked brisket Reuben. The sauerkraut was the best part. The brisket was most like cooked in an oven for 15 minutes on high. Nothing had broken down, it was all fat and sinew muscle. disgusting.

Got talked into "the Best™ steak sandwich in my area. Fucking disgusting amount of fat and gristle. Threw it out.

I took my wife to an Indian restaurant named Ferengi's in Chandler, AZ the other day.
Everything was more expensive than our usual places, but not bad.
The waitress asked if we wanted dessert, my wife asked what she recommended, and she responded "Cheesecake."
I thought it was odd I had not seen deserts on the menu, but how expensive could one slice be?
$14 and they recommended a 20% tip.
I just thought that combination was excessive.

I went to the Greek local place last night for my weekly chicken souvlaki take out dinner - obviously it's usually excellent or I wouldn't go weekly. I walked in and all the women staff were in pushup bras and boobie shirts and I thought ok this is new are they going the Hooter route? Apparently they are as my food tasted like it was reheated from lunchtime and not even reheated well, it was lukewarm when I got home even though I got there five mins before the time they told me.

Diner 66 in Albuquerque, bacon bourbon barbecue burger, 18 bucks come with fries and a drink. Its ecstasy in every bite. Best expensive burger I've ever had.

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

20$ for a hamburger and that doesn't include fries or a drink.

5 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

cheese is $4 extra

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I want my calories and money back.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If a burger costs more than $10, you are overpaying.

Sysco is one of the reasons that most casual-restaurant/fast-food tastes so bland and hollow these days. If you find a mom & pop shop that cooks from scratch, cherish them while they last, because sure as sunrise there's some bullshit chain out there that's going to try and scoop up that real estate.

(In & Out is an exception, but they focus on quality rather than a ginormous menu with a million different options. I may be biased.)

Save your money, cook at home.

5 days ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

The food we can easily make is better than what they try to serve.

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In & Out has burgers. They are decent, but not "awesome".

5 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Agreed. Consistency is their main draw and they do it pretty well, but they're not taking the whole world by storm any time soon.

5 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wendover productions agrees with you.

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Eh??

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sysco serves orders well. Bad chefs blame sysco. Learn how to cook.

Just did this, all entrees looked amazing. I figured the fish and chips would be absolute bomb. My wife's dish was incredible. My fish was mostly breading. Disappointed. 🤷🏼‍♂️

If you ever walk into any restaurant with gambling machines turn around and get the fuck out of there, just my 2 cents to add.

5 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

But you could take that 2 cents and double it!

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If I pay $20 for a fucken burger and its shit then I'm saying something or expected money back.

How do you fuck up making a good hamburger? You ain't a fucken chef and ya ain't worth $20 mate.

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yesterday I paid $14 for something called Philly Cheese Steak egg rolls, I knew I was going to be disappointed, but I was so fucking blown away with how good they were I literally did a second doordash order to get more

5 days ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

Better drop the name of the restaurant, friendo. :)

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man of means

5 days ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Your simple ass will consume us to prosperity. (I would never buy a Philly egg roll)

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

the name was not accurate, hence why it wasn't dissapointing, it was really just a marinated steal and softly butter poached onion and cheese in a crispy fried wrap

and it was very, very good

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*marinated steak. And it had some hot peppers in there.

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As long as Im fed

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is how I feel when I go to McDonald's. I already expect to be disappointed and it's so much worse than that. It's basically fraud they are committing.

5 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The only way a burger is worth $20 is if it's garnished with a ten, a five, a couple ones, and some change.

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This. This is one of the worst things alive.

5 days ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 5

my food is usually dead even when it's mediocre

5 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

you could be a kid in palestine getting bombed, captured, tortured, raped and forcebly becoming an organ "donor". I think you will be alright.

5 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 12

You could also just be a random black or brown person in America. Or just a gradeschooler. Shooter's be shootin'.

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Again, huzzah because I get dead.

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Too dark bro.

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

It's true tho.

It's true tho.

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I’d get to be dead? HELL YEAH.

You forgot about the r*pe part.

Doesn’t matter. Achieve final wish status.

I went to a fancy place in LA once and spent 200 bucks on one meal for me and my ex. Tasted like it was made by someone with both parents

5 days ago | Likes 106 Dislikes 7

Fancy restaurant in a fancy building, killer view, food tasted nice until waitress brings out the dessert. It was still frozen. Expensive bill.

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don’t know what this means. I’m sure it’s a west coast thing.

5 days ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Its an internet thing. There is a common meme and joke around how people with mental health issues make better food. Mainly jokes about how Line Cooks are drugged out, violent and usually criminals but they make amazing food.

5 days ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Bc they slather everything with butter homie. Not bc they're the best cooks.

5 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Paula Deen is their inspiration and Lord. God bless every one of 'em too!

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im trying to figure out what this means. Only damaged people make good food? 😂

5 days ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 1

People with issues need damned good comfort food.

5 days ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

True true

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The worst someone's life has been, the better their food. At least that is a common online trope.

5 days ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 4

Welp, another supposed stereotype that doesn't involve me! I have a shit life, and can't cook for shit!

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Oh I guess ive missed that trope lol

5 days ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

I think it's a play on the more recent trend of food recipes starting out with life stories before just getting to the recipe

5 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

French, Italian, Indian, Japanese, Mexican, and Chinese ppl very famously grow up in single parent household cultures. Like I'm really struggling to imagine which culture produces bomb food and broken homes.

5 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The secret to good food is not caring about how long you'll live after eating it. Also, a lot of butter.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you ever been to a Waffle House at 2am with a line cook who has more tattoos and issues than you have hairs on your head and gotten a meal that touches your soul?

5 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No. I have eaten there and it's just slathered in butter, oil, grease, and sugar. No wonder our chimp brains are tricked into thinking it's the best food. Best food I've had recently was a meal in trois-rivieres Quebec, prepared by a hipster with a mustache with free healthcare and came to chat with us after we ate. Was super chill. Top 10 meal of my life. Some kind of local fish with polenta, a pepper sauce, can't remember what else.
