Our kids are going back to school this week. Our school is a small private one and we are doing classroom pods, all kinds of disinfectant cleaning, and mandatory masks.

However, I learned that for indoor PE masks will not be mandatory.

“Students do not wear masks when involved in strenuous exercise because a mask during strenuous exercise seriously reduces oxygen to the brain.”

I’ve messaged our primary care doctor for advice, but I feel like the risk of exposure to Covid is greater than the risk to overall health if we just did something else in PE for the time being.

Thoughts? Links to peer reviewed or scientific papers on the topic? I didn’t want them to go back anyway as we have an interactive remote option, but the mask mandate made me feel better about them going.

The only peer-reviewed research that applies here are the ones on psychosis...to properly diagnose the people forcing kids back to school.

Masks are like finding the right fitted shirt to wear with a necktie: get one that fits well and you’ll be fine.

Turn it into a science experiment with the kids. Measure heart rates, blood oxygen levels, temperatures, etc

Sure it'll be great to get out that orange stain, but after that, will it really be a shirt I want to wear out in public?

My gym has been doing "no mask while you exercise" for a couple of months now and there's been no covid outbreak.

doesn't mean there won't be a massive outbreak when it is finally interduced into the gym . doesn't take long to get out of control

I work a job that is very physical and labor intensive. I wear a mask the entire time, I am fine. The argument that it reduces oxygen to the

Brain is bullshit. If that were the case, my kids would have a note to be excused from PE until the rule is otherwise changed

Complete bullshit ,it’s certainly uncomfortable but no healthy person should have any issue breathing with a cloth mask on

Like to sneeze on a tv. Or blow up a balloon and hours later have the air come out soggy. Gross. Humans are gross; there’s no good to come.
