I mean, I don't think that I INTEND to cause these thoughts, but like, if I'm about to go under an overpass, I'll briefly glimpse what it might look like if the overpass fell down on me. sometimes I'll imagine ridiculous and amazing accidents happening on the highway, and I happen to be one of the by-standing vehicles. It's always a flash of a second, but I see so many morbid images while I drive.

"Bang" and get it over with.

Ah yes, the call to the void.

Intrusive thoughts can be very overwhelming. Are you still struggling with hearing voices? Any history of psychosis in the family?
tyr888
I'm not struggling. The whispers are just there. I cannot understand them
thevortexmaster
I do it too

We all do it and it makes us cautious drivers because we imagine the dumbass cutting us off before it happens.

It's called "The Call Of The Void" look it up, fascinating phenomena.

I do this too, driving, standing from great heights, being on an airplane, swimming in the ocean, having sex, you know the normal stuff.
Shenaniganz80
Do they frighten you or are you hoping for them?
tyr888
I don't hope for them, I just imagine amazing cinematic creations
tyr888
just to be clear, I do not want to die. the accidents just are imagined as if they are in amazing movies, I guess. i don't know
AbsolutelyUndecided
I do the same thing. No desire to die at all, just pops up in my brain. Thought I was crazy, but apparently it's pretty common.

ya, like if I'm crossing train tracks, I imagine a train crash, and cars flying all over the place, and then FLASH/BAM! I'm on rt 1 again
