There is no place like it in all the internets. At least the parts that I go into.

The things I downvote: sexist, racist, or classist bullshit.

First day of the US Army, we were told we were all Green... everyone was a shade of green, but our goal was to aspire to be OD.
So, weird thing, all of my drill sergeants were from NYC... thought it was weird, my mom came down for the turning blue ceremony and one of the Drill sergeants screamed my mom's last name, ran over to her and hugged her.
She taught elementary school in East Harlem, back in the 1970s and this dude was in her 3rd grade... he remembered her, fondly...

... he later told me that if he had known who my mom was, he would have treated me 6 or 7% less terribly.

6 or 7%? Makes sense, anymore and it would be considered favoritism.

Meanwhile, one dude, whose dad a full-bird COL never got assigned fire guard or KP.... the one objection I had in the US Army (ha, 'the one', classic, ok, the biggest objection) was that officers were sovereign and could not be punished for any act... no matter how much damage they did, how many they killed, they would always find some E5 to pin it all on...
The best example? Abu Ghraib... the highest ranking individual punished was an E6. Really? No officers were around, no one was in charge?

I’m not in the military, I don’t know what most of that means. Sorry
