Wow the one time I read the title... Or do I always read the title and never notice? Well I noticed this time.

Can someone with more rep start D&D tagging these so they can be searched by DMs who need a chuckle
I may have enough, I'll see if I can.

I may have enough. Yeah. I think ya do.

Loved spinning the d20 while the dm provided exposition. He once got annoyed by it and said a powerful daemon abducted me into its dimension
Hah, how'd that end for you?
A very grueling and tortuous side campaign all made up on the spot by the DM. I ended up returning back to the same point.
I was completely OP for the campaign and breezed past a lot of enemies.
circlebreaker
I still love spinning D4's. Difficult but satisfying.
MightyGlowCloud
"Don't play with the dice" is like the fourth rule of roleplaying. Did you not get the memo? The GM will smite those who do not conform.
LassKibble
As a DM it really depends, if it is becoming distracting I may explain the situation and ask someone to stop, but it won't affect the game.
azazello17
Besides, spinning dice is far too fun, I will reroll characters until you give up on enforcing that one :p
Rules are made to be broken :p

People always talk about whether or not the top was starting to wobble, whether or not it was still a dream, but they don't realize, (c)
RobBobertyYT
Not to mention nothing is ever that consistent in dreams.
jurarr
Remember how he never sees his kids faces. They were his totem.
DrClaww
That and the wedding ring was his, the top was his wife
skelidan
I think the top was more of a way for him to tell if his wife was present/watching him, which would consequently indicate if it was a dream.
Except she will always be a dream, she died.
yeah, so the top spinning forever would indicate that he is subconsciously focused on his wife. At the end, the top could possibly topple 1/
even if it was a dream, because he has let go of the memory of his wife (ie-top=symbol of his obsession/regrets about incepting his wife).
TheCrowFather
Can we talk about how stupid the top is. It wouldn't spin forever in real life so why would the architect make it do so in a dream
akspartankiiier
Thats the point, you dunce. It doesnt stop so you know you are dreaming.
Got it. But if the architect has to create the dream and everything in it why would they create a top that always spins?
We see the girl put a number on the bottom of the chess piece so in real life there would be a number, not in dream
Meaning the architect has to create the pieces as well. So why would the architect create a top that always spins?
He wasn't even paying attention anymore. He didn't care. He was too busy playing with his kids.
Andalite
It also kept spinning so it doesn't matter if it wobbled. No top spins for that long without falling in reality
JohnyGPTSOAD
I think it is because he finally see's the kids (which he could never see throughout the movie) that I think he is awake.
DontYouHateItWhenTheNameIsSolongYouCantReadit
But that wasn't his... checker... thing, it was his ring, because he was still married in his dreams, the top was someone elses
Coheed62
Well at the end, they're wearing the exact same clothes whenever he thought about them before, so I assumed the worst.
Yetsumari
The spinning top was mals thing. His is his wedding ring. He only wears it in dream.
override367
but they're different actors that are years older than the ones from the flashbacks
YoureWaifuAShit
that's great for him, not so great for his kids if he was still dreaming.
Hrothtastic
Wouldn't he just eventually wake up in the real world , and then go to his real kids? The dream has to end sometime.
thatawkwardlateguy
He was so deep there was chance he'd be stuck in limbo if I remember correctly
They were in limbo, but then they went up several dream levels. Even still, iirc limbo is just a place that time passes really slowly
