Answering question asked by @beechundmoan - yes, you can . Be sure to cool your hand/forearms before (wash in cold waterfor 30 secs , then dry).
Taken with Flir One for Android 2nd gen, with inversed grayscale (warmer is darker). White dots on the floor and my socks are droplets of water .
Also, don't trust the temperaturę measurements in hobby thermal cams - will be off by 5+ degrees, sometimes more (especially in higher temperatures).

you have to use special lenses (zinc selenide if I recall), that aren't allowing visual/near IR to pass, only far IR.

Also, it is rather difficult for microphotography - 1. long wavelength = low resolution, 2 - low power emitted = difficult to register.
