The upside to all of the MAGA idiot voters is that they are not reliable. Dems picking up a huge chunk of college educated voters gives us a much more reliable base. So we now have an advantage in these off year elections.

I like the thought, but don't think it is accurate. The republican base is full of head strong single issue voters that always vote, and will even vote in child molesters. Left leaning voters are more critical of their candidates and will straight up not vote if the candidate is outed as a piece of shit. Unfortunately also if the candidate is not inspiring enough (see Kamala Harris, Roy Moore https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Moore)

Those people have always voted republican. The NEW MAGA voters that Trump has picked up since 2016 are largely uneducated, young, men, and previous non-voters. These people turn out to vote for Trump and only Trump. If he's not on the ballot, they are less likely to turn out.
Meanwhile dems picked off a huge chunk of college educated voters in 2016, and these people always vote.
It's why dems have largely overperformed in midterms and off year elections since 2016.

Does musk actually have a million $ on hand to give? My understanding is that all his money is tied up in stocks and if he takes his money out the stock evaluation of his companies will go down and he will lose more money.
