I don't know what Microsoft was thinking saying that. Of course there's going to be another version sooner or later.

Well, they (Microsoft) did say Windows 10 would be the last, and they'd just keep upgrading it. Guess they changed their mind.
Maybe it has to do with identifying computer age? A pc running Windows 7 sounds old. If it's always Windows 10, no such evaluation option.
