Has anyone had a good experience with Salvaged titles? It claims it was rear ended. No frame damage. Anyone have any experiences or opinions they wanna share about these cars?

Well, if you can repair them then sure why not. Just know that the odds are good, but the goods are odd.

Not sure if someone addressed this below, I think you can only get liability insurance on a salvage title.

If you know the extent of the damage, and get it for cheap enough that you can repair it and still be way below full value, go for it.

I had a ford escape that was a salvage title. The back end was crunched up a little in a wreck. Guy i know would buy'em at auction & fix'em

I bought it from him. straightened back end and put new plastic bumper on. Ran good for 11 years after.

The car might be fine, properly repaired. The issue is value. It is not as valuable as the same car without a rebuilt title.

was more than the car was worth so they called it totaled. That was 5+ years ago and the thing is still running. Take it to a mechanic ->

Salvage/rebuilt titles have zero trade in value, so if you’re going to own it till the wheels fall off and you love the vehicle then //

It’s worth it, but if it’s a 2015 and you’ll drive it for a few and hope to trade it in….nope, the value is $1

Id like you to understand that theyre a risk. If its not yet fixed, could be a money pit, if it is repaired, could have been hacked.

For something you want to drive safely and then sell on, skip it. For something you want to keep or race no issues with salvage.

My last 2 cars have been salvaged titles. WAYYY cheaper and I have had zero problems. It IS a gamble tho - but it is with any used car

Frame damage=no. Body panels? Maybe. Check insurance also make sure they’ll cover it.

Carfax is a great way to get history. And find a reputable mechanic that YOU trust and ask the seller to bring it to them for PPI.

I repair and drive salvage cars. Insurance companys total cars for more monitary reasons. I had an impala, broken headlight, 1/2

Always mean massive wreck, it could, but can also mean the bean counters would rather total it than pay to fix. Have it looked at.

I picked up a flood car I drive it to work every day. I did end up replacing the transmission after about 40,000 miles. All in I've got $5k
