The Guardian throwing exquisite shade on Farage

Jul 8, 2026 12:46 PM

Exquisitely subtle shade from the Guardian. I've highlighted it, don't @ me.

The backstory, which is undisputed, is that Farage accepted a gift of five million pounds from a right-wing cryptocurrency billionaire in Thailand, and didn't declare it as part of his political interests. Farage would like you to believe that that isn't corruption, but who are you gonna believe?

Count Binface is a satirical political candidate who legitimately stands for election in the UK Parliament. countbinface.com

I just want to kick FARRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE in the knuts

Count Binface has been at it for a while, but if there was any way he'd ever win, it would be a situation as stupid as this against an opponent as corrupt as this.

I personally am more in favor of nationalising model railways as opposed to stopping small boats so if I got to vote then Count Binface would win that election.

The key point is that all the main parties have said they aren't going to field candidates as that is playing into Farages game. So he is going to be running against a comedy candidate who COULD WIN. Betting odds on Binface have been dropping.

I am 100% with Count Binface, just look at this fabulous manifesto!

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Binface defeating Farage would be legitimately the funniest way possible for Farage's career to run aground. Like, Binface NEVER fucking wins anything. If his first victory was *Nigel fucking Farage*, it'll bring the remaining Pythons back out of retirement just for the resulting hilarity.

Count Binface should link up with Vermin Supreme and campaign together...

I, for one appreciate that the red circle isn't over done the partial transparency make this a shining example of a red circle done right.

I also hope Farage finds fent in his coke because he has to be on something

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"Up to his neck"... what neck?

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I genuinely hope Count Binface wins.

2 weeks ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

Is it possible? (Canadian catching up on this insanity lol)

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is theoretically possible, he is a real candidate. Even if it is more a joke and protest than a serious campaign, he's just as legitimate as everyone else to the election process. So if people reject Farage enough and instead want Binface, then people will get Binface as their MP. Normally he doesn't have a chance, but this time, since the circumstances are special and there aren't any "proper" candidates facing Farage, there is a remote possibility of that actually happening.

LETS GO BINFACE!!! (thanks for answering me viila)

This guy is almost equal level of stupidity combined with recklessness with the demented Orange Leader. Here's a good mate explaining the whole conundrum so you can explain it to your friends. /gallery/nigel-farage-resignation-special-rUjVBto#RGns3nq

God be praised for the red highlight.

It's dangerous that these politicians are so cartoonish and laughable (yes, I am talking about Farage), yet still do so much damage and pose such a threat to our democracies. I'm sure politicians from all over the political spectrum do shady deals to grab as much money as they can, but it is important to uncover as much as possible of who is trying to influence them.

2 weeks ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

As we lose democracy, the so called "leaders" who emerge are all cartoonish incompetent corrupt oafs. Just like Mussolini, Hitler, etc.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's the corrosive effect of capitalism, unfortunately. The profit motive will always eventually weed out the good to make way for those willing to do whatever is needed for shareholder gains.

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

That's why we need systems to stop it. Sadly, those who'd have to make and protect that system are the same ones who benefit from it being exploitable.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He is a cunning stunt, no doubt.

"I'm going to lower your taxes - and raise everyone else's" - Count Binface quote when asked his policies

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, the five mil was the obvious corruption, but the payments from RT and the advertising of a gold company are also monumentally shady

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The people should really fuck with him and elect Count Binface.

2 weeks ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

It would be GLORIOUS.

2 weeks ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

The whole thing is preposterous, Farage resigned this riding due to a scandal and wants to run in the bi-election he generated and the major parties do not even have candidates. It's mind boggling

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

The major parties are refusing to put up candidates - they could find them if they wanted to, but by refusing to participate it exposes the sham for what it is.

Unfortunately Farage will win the seat back. It won’t even be close. He’s been leeching off of Clacton for decades, as an MEP before he was an MP, all while selling his constituents interests up the river. Such is the right wing propaganda that they absolutely love him for it.

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

But then if he wins, the investigations will continue, he’ll likely be suspended bc he’s guilty as fuck, and… that will trigger another by-election.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The investigations will continue regardless. The penalties will vary depending on whether he is a sitting MP when they conclude or not, but he’ll win this so he will be, so yeah there’s going to be another by-election. What a tremendous waste of taxpayer’s money.

And at the end of it I assume he still has the five million pounds (plus whatever).

This feels like a good sign for those of us cheering for the Greens.

Fuck Farage

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I listened to count binface on the beeb yesterday morning. He has far more sense, and better policies than reform and restore combined. Also he's a decent human being like others in his party (I'm looking at you Captain Beany :)

I've lived a truly boring life. At no point have I ever had a trash can on my face OR been accused of being up to my neck in sleaze

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

If you haven't misled a nation into a catastrophic misjudgement to satisfy your own malignant ego, have you even lived?

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Guardian did it every caption on this article. Never gets old. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/jun/19/ount-binface-fox-raving-loony-uk-proud-history-costumed-candidates

Count Binface vs Cunt Trasharse

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If he got that in cash, how much was he given in untraceable crypto?

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Remember that crypto isn't untraceable. It's just anonymous. But if large sums of money start appearing in Farage's bank account from crypto sales, it's possible to tell which bitcoin wallets it came from. Unless it's been very thoroughly laundered, which is itself highly visible and suspicious.

I am absolutely with Count Binface

2 weeks ago | Likes 165 Dislikes 0

Please actually elect Count Binface. I want to live in a world where whimsy wins out over these lifelong politcal ghouls. It can't be any worse than it is right now.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

count binface has some pretty reasonable policies

2 weeks ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Nationalizing Adele just makes sense, innit?

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

"At least 1 affordable house" is pretty solid too (you can do more of course, but committing to at least 1 means you should be able to set up a system to do it and go from there- seems lazy/counterintuitive but when you consider how bad current systems are failing maybe back to basics is the right idea).

My favorite though is people who abuse roadrules on bikes are banned from bikes and can only use unicycles.

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I count Binface as an advocate and an ally.

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The fun part is, this is an election Farage really doesn't want to win, since if he does, the investigation into his finances will continue.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's basically a no-lose scenario. If he wins, he's on the meathook and Clacton got what it voted for all along. If he loses, he's forever after the guy who literally couldn't win an election against a trashcan, and Clacton gets at least one affordable house.

Same guy - had to come up with a new persona due to a dispute with the dude who created the character of Lord Buckethead.

correct, but he wasn't the first and only one to play said character.
