Ironic because she's a singer, dating a football player. (well, I guess past tense... on all counts.)

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't care about Taylor, I am annoyed at how much they show her

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

David really called her bs on this scene and it was amazeballs

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Never an actual criticism just bitching to own the libs.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

haven't watched the superbowl in ages, but this seems silly, whatever this is. i don't actually care to find out :D

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What was the original of this meme?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"That woman who keeps telling young people to vote is getting free publicity! Doesn't she know young people voting is our worst nightmare?" - the GOP

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

"Arguably the most famous celebrity right now is getting marginally more publicity to push her agenda!"

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They'd probably insist it's "the liberal agenda."

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think "football" is a fucking joke because the most homophobic, trump supporting dudes on the planet cannot get enough of 60ish sweaty dudes touching yarballs and hugging eachother for 3hours. And all they bitch about is a successful woman? Incelosphere at it's finest.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I'm not right wing at all and can't stand trump, but what's really homophobic is your making the very tired and unoriginal stance of nfl football being "sweaty guys in tights hugging." The game is violent as fuck. Equating nfl tackles to hugging is silly.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

There's a secret 3rd option. I'm a Taylor fan, love the NFL, and I'm skipping this Super Bowl. The Chiefs vs 49ers is the most boring matchup anyone could imagine.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel sorry for that guy for the songs which will come out in 4-5 years about him...

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Personally I probably won’t watch cause the god damn 49ers beat the packers. On the other hand I’ll probably have to cause my dads a 9ers fan

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey as a packers fan we got nothing to be ashamed of unlike lions fans. We went toe to toe with those cockgobblin' 49ers.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

God damnit that’s fucking funny

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm sure the protest will go well. Like that Bud light protest that has already been forgotten.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

What show is this meme from?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm boycotting because I don't like football and have better things to do.

2 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 5

I don't really care about taylor swift and I rarely watch the nfl.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I haven't watched football in over 20 years, couldn't pick Taylor out of a lineup 6 months ago, had no clue who this Kelce guy was. Now that I look in to them they both seem to be amazing people, extremely talented, like can't even find anyone saying anything bad about them (ones that actually meet them). They almost have me interested in wasting time watching sports (almost). Anyway, I thought MAGA was already boycotting the NFL.....

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I'm starting to think, and I feel I have a bit of evidence to back this: But Taylor Swift might be some kinda big deal in America from what I can tell.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sports should not be funded by governments.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Once again, the NFL fandom is a bunch of obsessive weenies. She's barely even on the screen.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

To be fair, it is also discussed in the pre-game show, the post-game show, you can bet on it and it's all over sports social media. It also didn't just arrive, it's been like this for the past 10 games +/-. I honestly don't think this is political, I think football fans are just sick of the sideshow. They want to tune into the pre-game show to hear football analysis - not see more segments on TSwift. Fans are also kind of sick of the Chiefs, who are in the midst of a dynasty, which some hate.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Robbed of the Lions/Bills SB we needed, but didn't deserve.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Indeed! That would have been a ton of fun.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I saw this morning on CNN, they did an analysis of Taylor Swift's coverage during last night's game. TSwift was on camera for a total of..... (drum rollll)....... 33 seconds. People are so goddamned stupid.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I've seen this meme MANY times with different captions....who are these people?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Posh Spice and her soccer husband. It was mentioned last time a similar one was posted.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

David and Victoria Beckham. It's from a recent documentary and he was telling her off for trying to say she wasn't Posh.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The worst thing is that I just want to be a football fan who doesn't mind Taylor Swift but doesn't need to see her in her luxury seating a dozen times a game reacting every time her boyfriend does something, but now there's no middle ground. You're either a Swifty or a MAGA.

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

Please don't make me choose to be a Swifty. I can't stand her music.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

During one of the cutaways on yesterday's broadcast, it looked like she was done with all this as well. She was just trying to talk to her friends, they pointed at a TV, and her expression was like, 'leave me alone.'

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I am also a football fan and I simply don't follow your train of thought on this one

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It’s not like they’re cutting gameplay to show her, it’s just camera downtime. They showed Barry Sanders and Joe Montana and thousands of other fans between plays too. Who cares?

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

they make choices. like when to replay or show fan reactions. Taylor swift cuts into my getting to see the play again

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 10

I don't even blame Taylor Swift. She can't go out to dinner without it making press. I blame the people who need to tell me "where she ate in Argentina"

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I just don't wanna watch it because I'm from Vegas and an obligate fan of the Raiders. Seeing the inevitable Chiefs victory in our own stadium will hurt.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A reminder literally the only reason redhats hate her is because she told young people to register to vote. She didn't even tell them WHO to vote for. That's how much Republicans hate young people.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Which is nuts, because there still are issues with the NFL and concussions, an actual criticism.

Yes because one of the top ten most famous people in the world needs the help of the NFL with publicity....

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There are quite a few people that follow the NFL, but not Taylor Swift. You can't argue that this is an increase in publicity, no matter how much she has on her own.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Damn....sarcasm really doesn't come across in text without the /s

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I'd also like to take the opportunity to get mad about the stadium subsidies again.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Only conservatives are pissy about Taylor Swift. Conservatives don't care about players' health. If anything knowing that football is bad for the players long term is likely to make them like football even more. Conservatives love suffering.

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

Meh, I'm not conservative but I have an extreme dislike for celebrity bullshit like gawking over them doing normal mundane things like just watching a game. It hasn't been one game. It's just about every game and even other games she's not even at. And they cut to her reaction multiple times. Not even owners get that kind of air time. I am annoyed enough just listening to Chris Collinsworth saying stupid shit. Please and thank you

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

yeah but why would you want to solve actual problems instead of endless super-engaging culture war nonsense

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I am a firm believer that the NFL is at least partially rigged sometimes by people with lots of money, particularly from the inside. That being said... the idea that the very wealthy old white men that own like 99.9% of everything about the NFL and grew up in the south are secretely trying to help democrats get elected is so stupid that only a magat could believe it.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I doubt it's rigged. The rich bastards profiting off it aren't affected significantly one way or the other by the game's actual results, they're still making fat stacks off ticket sales, licensing, and merchandising.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Substance abuse, domestic abuse, that thing where they use tax money to build stadiums...so many legitimate criticisms.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, or the issues rational people have with organized sports and their leagues in general

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean its republicans they are obsessed with UFC which is essentially kick the guy in the head until he gets a concussion and you win.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I actually prefer the episode of UFC where they directly inhibit blood from reaching the brain with a deft little neck squeeze. Much neater way to near death a man.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe T Swift will write a concept album from the first-person perspective of a person suffering CTE

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Republicans do, sometimes, complain about things that are actually bad. But never for the right reasons.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

criticism deserved, but I think they're making good faith efforts. Educating players on the signs and encouraging them to report when a teammate is showing them, better helmets/tech, a third-party neuro trauma specialist who has the authority to remove players from the game, and lots of other safety protocols

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

97% of players develop CTE. You're an apologist trying to justify your favorite draconian bloodsport.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

[citation needed]

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This idiot found a different study showing it and still commented this.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It took a LOT of pressure to get those "Good faith efforts" and often they were a little lacking.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

They've actually done an incredible job of educating players, coaches, trainers, etc. on concussions. They've made rule changes to help protect players, new equipment, R&D, etc. The reality is - concussions will always be part of football and most sports.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

91% of former players have CTE. Meaning the NFL is literally killing people for entertainment and pretending otherwise.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

True but it is part of the sport.. nobody is forcing people to play it. To solve the head trauma problem, I think football just needs to go away or it needs to be changed so much that it’d be almost a different game. If you choose to play the sport, make it to the nfl, then you are aware of what’s at stake. Let people do what they want. If it’s their passion then so be it.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

There is also still racism, initially most of the higher ups supported Kaepernick kneeling but when all the bigots lost their shit didnt they make it against the rules to kneel? Fining and punishment of black players by mostly white team "owners" and management for daring to protest. I'm pretty sure this didnt resolve to a progressive outcome... lots of work still to do.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I want her to do the halftime show and watch the football fan lose it as swifties buy up all the tickets and then leave after the half time show.

2 years ago | Likes 441 Dislikes 3

I would love to see this happen. Stadium mostly empty the first quarter, second quarter stands fill up with teenage/20 something women, third everyone dissappears again.

2 years ago | Likes 136 Dislikes 2

Given the amount of human trafficking allegedly around superbowls I'm not sure if that would be the best idea.

BWAHAHAHAHA

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

But they already spent all their money on Taylor Swift tickets

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Up until the Lions lost, I had been joking that if the Lions and Chiefs were to both go, they should cancel Usher and just do an Eminem vs Taylor Swift halftime show. Could legitimately have been awesome.

2 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

(Kc fan) I wanted Lions/Chiefs game so we could get Eminem and Tech N9ne to do a rap battle.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Taylor swift raps My Name Is and Eminem sings Blank Space

2 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

They're both legitimately talented individuals, not just pop props, so honestly that might be a banger.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Ticket prices are comparable to her concerts.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you know how expensive superbowl tickets are

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No, I don't know either.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Average price for a T-Swizzle concert ticket is $1011, Average resale ticket is $3801. There are more than a few stories of people unloading tickets for $5k+ and people buying plane tickets and tickets to see her in Mexico city because tickets were sold out in the US.

Still far below the average price for a superbowl ticket, but she was selling these tickets for this price while doing 151 shows and screening it at theaters as well, which is wild. Don't underestimate swifties.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

According to Google, the avg prices for this year's Superbowl range from $9800 to $12000.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fuck that. I could buy a decent used car or I could watch wealthy people run around playing grabass over a ball for a little while. Hard choice to make.

How does a singer dating a player equate to “politicized”?

2 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 1

Successful woman who has her own views and beliefs, neither of them are far right enough to be anti vax or pro racism, that is enough for the current USA right wing to hate them.

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Singer has supported some dems before, doesn't support Trump. Player is an advocate for the covid vaccine, so much so that another player referred to him as "Mr. Pfizer" (Pfizer being one of the companies producing the vaccine in the US) as though it's an insult (not here to debate). So the right sees this as a power couple that are anti-right, that's my take on it.

2 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 2

Would that other player maybe perhaps have only made it 3 plays into the season before breaking?

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Fuck Aaron Rodgers

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Wow thats even dumber than I thought. I hate all of this.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Welcome to America.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's how these things always are. Just think of the dumbest reason you can imagine and then try to make it dumber and you're almost there.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And what are the angry people hoping someone will do about it?

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

They want to Cancel them. The alt-right has been using cancel culture for decades to try and suppress anyone else.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hoping to eradicate differing opinions and view points by any means necessary. Again, just my take. The whole border thing just makes think they're ready to shoot.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

If there are school children around or someone’s dog look out!

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think people are playing this up more than it is. I don't think it's political. Fans are just stick of reading, hearing, seeing TSwift in the middle of their football shows/highlights/social media, etc. And a lot of people are just sick of watching the Chiefs win. It's like Brady and the Pats - people hate them because they are so good. People like seeing new teams get to the Super Bowl. People who follow football have been inundated with TSwift for the past 10+ weeks.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 19

None of what you've said matches up to that complaint though.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that definitely does describe some group of people, but there’s a whole other group that is furious for all the political reasons described in the post and the comments

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How is any of that on Taylor? She's not allowed to be at the game and have a good time? Get mad at the camera people for putting her on camera. She's just living her life.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I never said it was Taylor's fault. It's obvious the NFL wants to push this to get more eyes on the sport and media outlets are gobbling this up on pre and post game shows and on social media to get clicks. I just provided another view on it - as I don't think it's 100% political. Sorry for a different view/opinion.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

She's anti trump, that's all it is. They'll think of any way they can have their tantrum validated, it's just how they are.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I disagree. It's not always about politics and picking sides. Some hardcore fans want to tune into the football game and hear about - football. Not about what Taylor's wearing today. The NFL/media are promoting it for their own gain ($$$).

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They also showed her for all of 44 seconds of an over three hour broadcast. She’s barely even shown and people losing their minds.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

If the right watched any basketball (they won't, too many PoC), they'd hate when they pan over all the celebrities sitting in the front row.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Have you been following the NFL for the past 10 weeks? It's all over everything. Pre-game shows, post-game shows, social media, non-sports media/news. It's a lot more than just in-game stuff.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Just to clarify - I have no issue with it. I love TSwift. I am sick of the Chiefs winning though. They are just so good, but I love watching new teams win and get their chance.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sounds like a you problem. Get the fuck over it

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Taylor swift accounted for less than .5% of the chiefs game. Only people who are tired of it are grossly misrepresenting how much she’s shown. Likely due to some subtle and overt feelings towards women

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

What you may be missing are the segments on her in the pre-game and post-game show. Then all the coverage she gets on sports social media. Oh - and it's been on-going for the past 2-3 months (feels like non-stop, but I'm exaggerating). I don't personally have an issue with it - but I can see how some would. I think a lot of casuals commenting on this don't really see the whole picture.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Sounds like a you problem.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I literally said "I don't personally have an issue with it" right in my post - so no, it's not my problem. I love TSwift and I don't follow football close enough to have been annoyed by it (too much). I was just providing an alternative point of view - I don't think everyone who's complaining about seeing TSwift is doing it b/c of political views.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Filthy casuals. WE HATES THEM!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For a non-American who wouldn't recognise a Taylor Swift song if you played it to me - what's all this about? It's all over usersub today.

Conservatives don't want people voting, Swift does, therefore she's Bad, in their logic.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am American, and I know maybe two songs that if I heard them I could say it was her.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You see, all the boys that like to play dress up as their favorite sports hero, found out one of them has a girlfriend, and girls are icky! Now they're upset, because he's probably gonna hang out with her instead of driving to their house to throw the ball around with them. So unfair!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

From a Brit, Republicans hate women?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

To make this short- yes.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Thanks for this question, I was wondering the same :)

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

To the best of my understanding: Taylor Swift was been encouraging her fans to register and vote. The issue is that her fans learn left/liberal. This has the right/conservatives upset. A big section of Pro-Footbal (America football, not soccer) are right/conservative leaning. Taylor is dating a pro-football player, so she been at games. They feel like the liberals are invading their space... or something like that... I think.

And because she refused to back their Aryan nation fantasies.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

The ironic part is that her encouraging people to vote regardless of who they vote for is only partisan because Republicans made it partisan themselves. They're the ones who chose voter suppression to be a core tenet of their party. But of course that's how it usually goes: they pick something non-political, make it political, and then complain about politicization.

2 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 2

How many of them have said that if more people voted, Republicans would never win? It's like, they know what the problem is, while failing to see how they are responsible for it.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They know they're responsible for it, they just hate admitting it. That's why they'd rather stop people from voting than correct their behavior.

conservatives HATE taylor swift because she encourages young people to vote and has significant influence amongst young women. they seriously believe the NFL rigged the championships so here boyfriends team would be in the superbowl and that she's gonna brainwash all the youth into voting for biden. we hate it here, we are not ok, please send help.

The vocal few being the leadership of the GOP so very loud voices.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Tiny but loud few. The kind of folks who stopped watching after their team got a black quarterback.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Only thing to say for sure is they certainly are loud. Hard to tell if there are any meaningful numbers behind it. It's mostly the incel types, you know how they like to get mad anytime someone other than a straight white dude is talking.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

as a rule they are smaller in numbers and more outspoken than the general populace, so it can be difficult to tell. but it seems to be a lot of them.
