That's putting an awful lot of faith in the current DoJ to know how to semi-properly use Acrobat in the first place. I work IT with actual doctors all day, and it's... a struggle.
In the 90’s I updated every printer in the office to say INSERT COIN. That prank got me dragged into IT and that’s when I started on my IT career path.
a place I worked head Peachtree Accounting. I said I didn't know how it worked, they pushed me to fix a problem, I called it Peartree and "accidentally" deleted the main database. I never had to help accounting again.
The one I have to use at work is eternally out of cyan. What's stupid about that is that the cyan is completely full and untouched. It just refuses to print any of it.
Wasn't there some prank that somebody did to these religious organization sending them facts that were nothing but black sheets of paper so their toner cartridges would run out ?
It meant on my first job in IT I spent 2 hours trying to troubleshoot the PC only to find out it’s not “Personal Computer”, the industry standard for PC, it’s “Paper Cassette”

Hey, brother hl-l32xx series... decent printers, as they go
cytherians
There should be something called an 'inverse redaction mark" whereby a rectangular box is drawn instead.
cousteau
You mean a white one, right? Or like one containing the original data?
KuroFluff
My printer has the error message "Epstein didn't kill himself." Not sure how to troubleshoot that

MapleSyrupMafia
I was really hoping for actual incompetence in Acrobat Reader where you can just see the originals without the black bars.
somnif
Well we've already found out several of the pics are completely unrelated to Epstein anyway (probably just in an email he read or something)

You weren't the only one. That would have been peak comedy.
cousteau
If I'm not mistaken, it wouldn't have been the first time it happened.

I can't believe I was lied to by them saying that they were all about transparency a while ago!! /s

Sounds like the cyan cartridge or its contacts got damaged or are malfunctioning.

CharlesTooke
If you have a page with the original redactions (blacked out parts) you can hold it up to a light and read through through them.
huffnpuff72
And the shredders are all burnt out from overuse.

Sill have my LaserJet 2420. Over 20 years old (including the toner inside) but still works fine.

I got my company printer to say that also. We don't use US Letter size in Finland/Europe.. We use A4.. Anyway, that bitch printer did not comply.

I saw some YT video about behind the scenes of that movie a couple weeks ago - that whole scene was not in the script, ad-libbed that they left in.
