The best part is, when the store you (I/me/my family/my friends...) literally shops at gets hit... and you've long since reached numb. Congrats America. Shootings are normalized now. Good job!... no one should be numb to this shit!
Couple summers back, we had the chick from Florida, who idolized school shooters, fly here, buy a gun, get all the schools (including my kids) closed down - kids don't get snow days anymore, they get crazy has access to a gun days, now. - then, she wandered into the mts to kill herself... my college campus had several lockdowns... the numbers are growing. Once in a while became one a month, and now... we're to the point of daily +....
But, nothing is worth going to the mat over gun access. Is it? We'll scream, and cry, and howl for the sandyhook kids, the first responders, those who just wanted to dance, or hear music, but now... will never do anything again... But when it comes to "standing our ground", and demanding the obvious solutions (gun regulations/restrictions/ MENTAL HEALTH/etc...) be addressed... yeah, no... we'll share our 2 cents... then wander away, while they scream "ma guns! Ma guns! You can't have ma guns"... even tho, no one said 1 damn thing about their guns... but also, never considered that, that may have been a confession.
One side is a bunch of 'parents who can't hold to a "no", to save their kids life'. And the other side will take every inch offered, and demand they deserved the whole mile... till those "can't quite hold to a no" people cave and split the difference. Rinse and repeat, and eventually, the one side now sits where the other started.... and things get worse.
Stop caving. Stop letting others cave. Stop splitting the difference! Its a damn amendment, it was an add on. Amendments can be added, adjusted, and removed. The whole damn set up was designed to evolve over time... ie: change! So, guns evolved, now the laws need to, too. Its pretty basic logic.
Oh, and if you really feel you need an arsenal, incase you gotta fight off the government.... yeah, bubba's shed ain't got shit on uncle Sam's drones... but, you keep that fantasy alive, boo...
