They are trying to hold onto the seat by rigging the midterm along with all of the other votes. If his district were to turn blue beforehand, it would be a huge hit to their forward momentum in stealing the country

I mean, it is KY, do they need to rig the midterms? That is not a bastion of progressiveness down there... I think the Republican is leading the Democrat by double-digits... it is not even listed as a contested seat by the DNC.
So, let's say he kicks it today and a Democrat takes the seat (which would commence a legal nightmare between the legislature and the Governor)... that makes the Senate 52-48 (including 2 independents who caucus with the Dems).
