No, the soldiers that fought in WWII weren't boomers, they were Silent Generation. Boomers were born AFTER WWII. Boomers merely benefited from the economic prosperity of pay to income ratios that were established at the time and when the middle aged Silent Gen or older voted for civil rights in the 1960's (boomers were just graduating HS or in college at the time) the boomers freaked out and collectively turned hard to the right.
