I have tons of notes but I cannot congeal them into a singular product. My brain either fires off too fast or goes completely blank.
Been working on it for years and I KNOW it would be fun but the ol' head meat won't cooperate.

Welcome to writing. I wish I could just tell someone my ideas and he/she writes it all out or the computer could just write or draw what I’m thinking. Good times. Sometimes I just write down what I’m thinking and if it’s a particularly hard day, I don’t even write in complete sentences but fix that another day so it makes sense

Makes sense. I'm finding that maybe I'm better at editing and refining than making the initial product. It's very easy for me to solve structure and plot issues for other people but writing my own is proving to be more than a challenge.

My personal next step after the "tons of notes" stage (which is a great start!) is to just start organizing notes. just start coming up with categories like "worldbuilding", "for the players", "intro", "main plot" and so one and start moving your notes around. You'll refine the categories as you go. And in my experience you'll probably come up with even more ideas just by looking at your existing ideas grouped together on a topic.

And just keep iterating this organization step, further refining into sub categories and filling in the obvious holes as you go. It'll be a lot easier to sit down and "write it" when you already have everything outlined and just have to string it together.

That's a good idea. I have them in very broad categories but anything beyond that and my brain locks down. I think I get hung up on wanting to account for every little thing when I know people don't want 600 page rule books :D

Ah. Gotta get to the “tons of notes” stage then.
