The tinier is actually reading the series. Bought the hardbacks for her to read.

Frank approves.

Look at his dangling ball. He got his troublepuffs removed last year as a kitten, so he has to make do with these.

Sorry Frank.

The books are so much fun to read and so fast-paced that I just plowed through them. Currently reading other things to settle myself a bit, but book 4 is already on my to-read shelf!

Just started book 2. Am seriously considering pledging for the RPG (has like a week left on backerkit).

Trying to read book 4 but Siouxsie does not approve of "book learnin". My cat might be a republican.

It's a cat. It's a libertarian, but dammit, we love them anyway.

I had seen the books pop up in posts on here, now and then, but had kind of stopped reading for fun at that point. Long hours and not a lot of free time with work and all. Saw the first book on a shelf at a shop nearby and just picked it up to skim through the opening a bit. Ended up absolutely hooked. Burned through the series in about a month and got bummed I had to wait another month or so until book 8.
Reignited my love of reading. Also burned through Discount Dan in the meantime. Recommend

burned through discount dan and now on Magetank series and your right discount dan is great as well.

Frank is not appalled.

I'm read8ng book 6. While reading book one I distinctly remember thinking "this is the cheesiest shit I've ever read. Why am I still reading it."

I have read nothing since. I've gone through 1-5 in a matter of 1 month. It's the most I've read in about 10 years.

Dude, I feel you. I am so freaking excited. Gonna start the series over from book one and make my way to the new one. (I read fast) *also, HAI FRANK!*

I got done reading This Inevitable Ruin last week. I can't wait for the next one!! What am I gonna do for reading after I finish that book though?!?

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't know of I can wait. But I want to try waiting for the audio book.

I started the first book Monday night and as of Wednesday night im on to book 3. Just waiting for my friend to let me borrow it!

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I misread the date somehow, thought it came today! preordered on my kindle and had set aside the whole night for reading. I'm devastated!

Just bought the first two for my wife for Mother's Day. She absolutely loved Operation: Bounce House.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am almost done with the first book. Very fun read. Very different than the Stormlight Archive which was my previous series.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can't wait! I'm giddy with anticipation!

This was on my Possible Reads list for a while. I was worried it was too goofy or absurd, but a friend recommended it to me and correctly informed me it wasn't like that. I started reading them in March and finished the last one a couple weeks ago. I had gotten them all from public libraries, and one of the copies had little stickers snuck in between the pages as a gift from a previous crawler. Since then I have preordered the new one and decided I'm going to buy all of them.

I'm too impatient for things, I love that you can join his patron and you get to read the chapters as he writes them. You basically get 2 boobs as you get the story as it's written then after the final edit he cuts out so much it's like you get 2 books per year

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait... you get 2 boobs?!

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh shit, I preordered this but forgot it was coming up! Excited!

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Glurp glurp! May 12 is my birthday and I’m pretty excited to spend it all day reading!

I am so glad I decided to give this series a chance. The cover art and description for the first book seemed super dubious, but the series was rated super well, so I gave it a chance and listened to the first audio book. And it blew my expectation out of the water.

This is my first comment on imgur after years of lurking (hi imgur!). I started listening to audio books exclusively instead of reading about a decade ago due to a very long work commute and just accepted that they essentially gave me the ability to read a story while doing other things. For me a narrator is almost more important than the author (although obviously I want a good author too) (cont..)

Find a narrator that that you jive with and even a 'just ok' book can become a worthwhile usage of time. Someone like Travis Baldree I very much appreciate for this.

DCC is a really fun series and Jeff Hays (narrator) absolutely takes it to the next level. It is probably the only book series that I will say is absolutely better as an audiobook because of Mr. Hays.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same! And this is definitely something one should listen as an audiobook instead of reading a traditional one. Best audio adaptation I've heard. It adds so much to the experience.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That’s what my friend says,, I’ll have to listen to it as well I guess.

It's gotten me properly into LitRPG as a genre. So far I can also highly recommend the "Primal hunter" and "apocalypse parenting" series.

2 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I was about to start Primal Hunter, then I found out is on book 15 of 29+ planned. I will wait, even though the author writes chapters faster than an AI bot.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've got a recommendation for you if you enjoy lit RPG books. I've been Dungeon Crawler Carl and primal Hunter but I found this book before either. It's "He who fights with monsters". It's the first book I've come across. That's a true fantasy book that has a good answer for the litRPG menus and it's a really fun book with really wonderful characters.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just started Primal Hunter after reading DCC and He who fights with monsters and yeah it is really good.

Try Jason's lemonade recipe, it's pretty good with some soda water.

He is a local author, for me. Local chocolate company sells a DCC themed chocolate bar.

Just don't show us your feet or the AI will get jealous! Or hot and bothered. Maybe just run them over something fuzzy....

I'm on the Feral Gods right now. The series has been pretty fun so far.

2 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

The Butcher's Masquerade is practically a magnum opus, the last 25% of the book is basically all one action sequence it's crazy and it's the longest book in the series at that point.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I’m at about 70% through. Guess I better buckle up huh

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That ending though..... The epilogue is just..... Mmmmmnnnnnnn.... I don't want to spoil it but just..... Matt Dinniman, you made me so mad for that.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

After reading DCC I've come to realize the quality of a book is usually directly effected by the length of the epilogue. My 3 fav series right now the epilogue is over 50 pages lol

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They way the tension keeps ratcheting up as they can't break the truce. Everyone's plotting and maneuvering for advantage. Really great.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a ballroom blitz

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The audiobook reader for this series is amazing. Jeff Hays does all the voices and REALLY commits. Makes me sad to go back to regular readers.

2 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

My brother is bragging about having access to them. He says they're awesome

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The full cast audio play is pretty good as well.

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That's good to hear. I was looking for information on the full cast audiobooks and if they were worth it

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Jeff Hays runs the studio that does the full audio versions, so he's got some investment into making sure they've got quality.
