Very true. My neighborhood(take a guess at the voting bloc) invited a lawyer to start talking about an HOA because there was some for pay party at a local VRBO that they got pissy about. I expressly went to this meeting to squash any notion i was ever going to sign onto an HOA and limit what I'm allowed to do with my own property. And that party house certainly would never sign on to it either. Things didn't go as they planned after the lawyer confirmed that they would not be able to force it
