Any Love for "Zones of Thought" on Sci Fi Day?

Can we do books too? I'm mostly seeing movies. Heck it, I'm doing a book. One of my all time favorites! Beautifully done hard Sci Fi, perfectly blended with a hearty mix of the fantastical and fantasy. Full of novel concepts (get it?) I've yet to encounter in any other book since. A little confusing at times, but thought provoking and well worth the read!

Is this the one where the afterlife gets full and Al Capone comes back? If so, I wasn't a huge fan, but I loved how he described the growing of the space stations.

Noooo, but I know exactly the one you're talking about, even if I can't quite remember the name. The neutronian alchemist or something like that? I wasn't a huge fan of that one either, it got weirdly preachy/religious and was veeerrry slow. This one, some human researchers wake up an ancient evil AI, and there's hivemind medieval age dog creatures. It's hard to describe without spoilers.
