An edgy teenage boy self insert character who happens Virtual Reality game Newtype and master swordsman gets trapped in a game where everyone sucks his dick because his newtype powers make him an unstoppable god of plot armor as he slaughters and screams his way through the concept of good writing and fight choreography.
GATE: Jietai Kanochi Nite
GATE is about propaganda for the Japanese Self Defense Force, as they use their modern military equipment to slaughter the denizens of a really shitty fantasy world by the millions. It pretends to have an interesting political plot but nothing interesting really happens ever. The main character is an anime nerd super soldier because, why not, and his only source of joy during the show is in meeting the generic cute fantasy anime girls he encounters, who stick around and contribute nothing to the plot. The main character literally states several times he would rather be watching other anime than be in this one.
Gakusen Toshi Asterisk
Kirito from SAO returns, having changed his name to Ayato and gone to magic Newtype highschool wherein he immediately picks up all the most boring and generic bitches possible, with terrible character design, sound design, hideous fight scenes that make one feel like they are having a fever dream mid stroke. The story is nonexistent, something about a tournament and weird assassins going after the school's top fighters, but literally no one in the story even cares so why should you? Watch Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry instead if you want to watch something bad.

I can only speak to GATE and SAO, but neither are great. Which sucks because they are both awesome in concept, ruined by bad writing
