What kind of paper is it?

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Paper with an amount of animal fiber in it, looks like part of it is wet-folded too

In the 50's & 60's, my uncle wanted to make silver salt & pepper shakers. He wanted to use curved folds to create 3 dimensional shapes. Since experimenting in silver was a little hard on the billfold, he worked in plastic for years. He made a lot of lamps. The last one that I know of finally cracked apart and we threw it out about 2 years ago. He was in the 1970 "Objects USA" coffee table reference book (article in Wikipedia). My uncle is not mentioned. But he had a 2 page spread in the book.

I once started an origami art business. It was great - on paper. But it folded.

Just have to figure out how to fit this joke into a haiku format

Why is Mr Bean in a dress? What sort of tomfoolery is he up to?

That's the great Blackadder. Show some respect.

We're watching you, scum.

It had been a while since I played but I fired it up recently with OpenMW and Tamriel Rebuilt. I forgot how fucking racist and rude the Dunmer in Morrowind are holy shit lmao.

Game holds up well too IMO. Even without OpenMW and TR I played regularly as well. Fantastic atmosphere, once you learn the intricaces and idiosyncracies of the systems you can have a blast.

Everyone's racist in Morrowind. If Argonians don't like you, they greet you with "the prey approaches."

Eh, I'll take "prey" over being called a slur any day of the week lol

silence, fetcher.

"it's like origami" no that's literally origami

4 months ago | Likes 210 Dislikes 17

My thought exactly. I was like... wait...

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Origami requires the object to be made from one square sheet with no cutting or adhesives. This is just paper craft since it involves multiple pieces and glue.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I must have missed it. but where do you see Glue ?

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My brain disregarded the rest of the video and just focused on the first piece. You dont see the glue but im sure its there to hold that one together. Ill concede that this wasnt my smartest comment ever lol

Man we all have those days :D

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure that origami requires that the paper is square. This is just sparkling paper folding.

4 months ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 1

I've never heard it required the paper to be square. only that it does NOT involved cutting glueing etc. just the folding of the paper.
Do you have something on the paper needing to be square ?

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

To answer myself
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origami
"The goal is to transform a flat square sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques."

I'd argue that ppl who say it is not origami if the paper dosent have equal length sides also would believe that the world is as old as the bibel tells them it is if they were christians.

I, too, disagree with the definitions of words!

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm a little unclear how those two concepts are connected. Can you elaborate?
