Imagine if a university had issued Trump a degree in Communications; do you think they'd be eager to advertise he graduated?

Op is saying Alexandrea Ocasio-Cortez is an idiot who understands nothing about money or how anything other than fantastical daydreams work.

The model for all of her proposals come from countries that have successfully implemented the same or similar policies.

Except those countries are a fraction the size of the USA’s geography and economy.

Sure, I’m not saying anything to the contrary, but our economy is far more similar to European economies than South American economies.

Oh sorry, I’m having two similar conversations- the first point is still relevant but ignore the S.A. piece.

Still have yet to see anyone show her economic position(s) to be flawed. Just trolls intentionally misrepresenting her initiatives. Meh

That's because they prove themselves to be flawed. No one needs to prove it because they just repeat what she says.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

No they either repeat their interpretation according to their misunderstandings or they intentionally misrepresent her. Hence the 70% tax

Have you looked at Erik Engquist’s thingamd her subsequent freak out? See below for a research launching point

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Your point? You are proving my point, Enquist is misrepresenting her point which is that Amazon is not as net positive for long islanders

She doesnt even understand how tax revenue and new job creation works to benefit a community...

For example...

I'll keep go9ng if you would like more examples

"OK NY we will build a facility, but you need to use some of the tax revenue to fix the roads near it for our trucks" everyone wins

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Noone said this.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was just an example that was requested....

A big company brings 25k new high paying jobs, brings in tax revenue, and most of the time helps improve infrastructure

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Are you assuming if Amazon doesn't go to new York that no other company will? Because that would just be silly & you're not silly are you?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not at all but nothing quite like this particular opportunity, and the fact that it was already on the table is better than waiting

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In no way at all was denying this good for NY, and if you try to argue that you are a fool

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She thought 3 billion in tax breaks for Amazon was money that existed already and should be used for schools / infrastructure.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Or does she think that providing Amazon with a subsidy is essentially giving away benefits when another company would pay those taxes?

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

But the point is which company? A company is going to go where the incentives are. Its like a bidding system for contracting job.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The money doesnt currently exist. They aren't taking any money away from anything.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which benefits? All they are saying is we are going to make you pay 3 billion less in taxes. They are the one generating the money.
