Eva, the craigslist pup, had parvo. Last Friday she stopped eating and we took her to the vet to discover the diagnosis was quite grim.
All weekend and week we pumped her full of IV fluids and force fed her while dumping antibiotics and antiinflamitories into her tiny body. It seemed like so much to put her through hut by tueday, she looked so much better.
This is Tuesday night. Looking like she was feeling much better! But the next day, things took a turn for the worst...
We woke to her shivering with a 106.5 fever. She had messed herself and was laying on her side. I called my best friend and we discussed options and I decided I still was not going to give up. She deserved to live and had already fought so well. I stayed with her all day trying to drop her temp and finally a cool bath and putting her in front of the fan worked and she dropped to 103.2
The next day she woke up and acted like nothing was ever wrong.
We are down to just finishing her antibiotics and giving yogurt in between those doses to start rebuilding her gut biome.
Parvo is deadly and I feel blessed we were able to save her. She is so sweet and wants to make you happy. She still gets the shakes but half chihuahuas tend to do that :)
I feel blessed that tonight I was able to put her in bed and know that tomorrow she will be better instead of fearing that it could be our last night together.
Here is to 10+ more years of fun, tears and trail treading with my miracle.

Shes as sweet as she looks. Shes also smart and learned how to sit, lay down and still potty trained while sick without treats. Amazing girl
