Come on everyone, can't we all just get along?

This has officially become a Tumblerite, SJW, over-reaction of epic proportions. Imgur and staff have been cast as some sort of goose-stepping Fourth Reich, dictating content and comments to be only those that fall into healthy norms for socially acceptable people. Nothing could be further from the actual truth. But the very first post I read about anti-censorship had the tone of a triggered, overweight and undersexed Feminazi from Tumblr. Give it a rest, already.

The terms of service have not changed since I first started coming here to the mostly wonderful community of imgur; so don't blatantly post NSFW content in comments. Pretty simple. That isn't a demand for censorship, it's a polite and adult request to demonstrate self-control and less egocentric disregard for fellow users and their families.

Really this place is kinda like being a parent and throwing a barbeque/house-party. Are you or your kids gonna encounter the occasional f-bomb? Absolutely. Is it possible that you or your kids will witness the rare, bikini-clad nip-slip or accidentally open zipper, or any number of myriad wardrobe malfunctions? Could be. Do you expect your friends to strip down and engage in a 4-way air-tight DP rotation on a chick in the corner, while your kids roam around gnawing on a cob of corn or a popsicle? Definitely not.

Get real. Stop the absurdity. This is ultimately nothing more than a reiterated request to conduct yourselves like adults who are interacting in the grown-up, adultified world. And I'm sorry, but the hue and cry about censorship is laughable. You benefit from a free service provided by wonderful people, and complain about the manner in which they provide it after they make a simple request?

This. This, right here and right now, is exactly why I've passed up on tumblr.

No edits for me after posting this. I will simply sit back and bask in the thousands of down-votes this post is likely to earn me. @sarah, my most sincere apologies that you and your staff have had to suffer this absurdity and the associated fallout.
