There's lots of posts about it, difference in opinion between mods and the organisers.

Yeah, since the site has so much content going on, I guess it's about getting extra mod attention on an IronGIF competition to help keep it clean. A regular user can't take down posts that don't follow the rules. So a mod is required. And if they're not willing to provide that and hostile actors jump in... then it's mayhem.
