I take less offense to late 1900s, but that may be because I was born in the late 1900s (as opposed to early or mid) so that was always a factor of my life. Part of my life, and an early part no less, being the "turn of the century" is much more upsetting.
No one actually calls it "the late 1900s" except dumb or trolling people, and (cue Pam meme) those are the same picture. You don't refer to parts of a century when you're that close in time, as you are well aware of the cultural differences by decade. Again, unless you really really never read

1) Yay, Canadian television recognition
2) After the revolution, referring to the late 90s and and early 00s as the "turn of the century" will be punishable by death, despite being correct.

Any reference to "the late 1900s" and the execution will involve being gutted by a kukri on Tuesday next.

Are you saying that after the revolution, telling the truth will no longer be allowed?
emu314159127001
No, but if you say it too cutesy by half, we're just going to {redected} you with a kukri
SlaaneshiRightsFront
No, truth is important, but I'm taking a lot of psychic damage from it
