Sometimes asking for a present gift wrap in a shop and the store employees are so darn fast wrapping anything and within seconds. I'm always impressed by that :P
My grandmother saw this tip in a magazine. I’m sorry it took you so long to learn or figure it out. Welcome! Please apply this knowledge to other areas of your life.
My sisters childhood dream job was working at the giftwrapping desk of a major department store, like in a Hallmark movie. Every year she floods my texts with tiktok vids of new wrapping techniques, and ribbons. I love her, shes so cool.
Oh, these are common “shirt boxes” in the USA. They’re not shipped. Just used during Christmas to make wrapping easier. But now people generally have other shipping boxes they could reuse instead. My generation is probably the last to bother using them.
Where was it? All over the internet. I remember seeing a very similar technique go viral like a decade ago for reducing the size of a pizza box for leftovers.
The cutouts are special, folding for second video is made easier by scoring the box so it can happen, but this doesn't mean you couldn't do it on normal boxes if you went through effort of modifying it yourself. Tho this video obviously do not make that easy, as it doesn't show what needs to be done :P
It's computable. Once you decide on what size box you want, you can calculate the size of cardboard you need. It's nontrivial, but a smart high schooler should be able to figure it out.
I don't know where I would get a white cardboard I could use to make a box. You guys have those laying around? If I have to go buy one, it's just the same to buy a box.
It's a sweater box blank. They come in packages of about 50 of a top and a bottom. This is someone who is using part of an existing box that they have to make a box of a different size so they don't have to buy two different packs.
My mom used to save them from other gifts or ask for extra at the holidays when department stores were lousy with them. There’s probably still a few in the attic mixed in with leftover tissue paper and gift bags.

How did they get a donut box so clean?
techymonkey
Not like that's hard to figure out....it used to be called common sense but it's not taught anymore because certain people hate critical thinking.
TK421isAFK
Now, see...you were *almost* right, but you could have said it in such a better way. At least we all now know who you vote for.
FluxSagrie
only cut one edge on the side, then cute along the bottom of the wall, and fold it in. Like an L shape. makes it more secure in there.
mrsaucisse
That is the detail that says "No, you won't be able to reproduce it"

Where was what? A box template without cuts or score marks? The fuck if I know.

That phrasing gave me PTSD. "Last christmas"...

Now use the top, printed/prettier side for another box.

Now put your dick in it.

I purposely ugly wrap presents, the nicer the gift, the worse the presentation.
Gantzz321
I cannot remember the last time I have seen a box at Christmas time. We just wrap gifts as is now.

"Last Christmas I bent your box".
RadishIsAMeat
wow a box with the structural integrity of cotton wool. No wonder so much stuff gets damaged in the postal system.

But the very next day, you reboxed it away. This will, to save the land fill...be reboxed to somethin' smaller.

It's just a shame that last years Christmas is over and we will never get a chance to use this technique again.

Looks like this is a special box and can’t be done with a regular pizza box

When you're stuck in a motel room with a mini-fridge & microwave & 4 days left on your stay, you get creative.

There are other videos you can find with a quick Google search of people doing it with other boxes.

It looks like it starts as the top or base of a basic garment box that they simply make smaller.

I think I can spare the extra 50 cents for a box I don't have to assemble myself
AnAverageBoxEnthusiast
dont need any if you dont celebrate any holidays

What is that thing they start with? Half a box?
slartibartfas
Looks like a standard "shirt gift box" you can get them at lots of stores around holiday times. They're the thinnest cardboard ever.
quintessentialrob
If you have only one half of a box lid because the other was destroyed or not saved after unwrapping, this is a great way to reuse the material.
