I doubt I wiped out the entire colony. But with enough attrition they seemed to know it was time to move out.
This isn't the same device. This is a blue-light laser system designed with funding from the Gates Foundation, being developed as a way to combat malaria in Africa. I've been following it since it was announced, because I will honest-to-god buy 50 for my own personal use.

Well the implication is it's using radar and a laser because it looks like a OTOMATIC model kit as a base. A radar sensitive enough to pick up flies would also probably fry them and not need the laser lol.
I saw one a while ago that used multiple lasers all focus on the target, so each one was smaller and less damaging until combined. Even then it didn't kill them just fried their wings so they dropped out of the air. Pretty metal TBH
That one I can answer ! Not if the laser has automatic adjustable focal length. Temp drops significantly once the laser is out of focus (been using laser engravers/cutters for a while now)
