Yet another work story...

I have a textile allergy (among everything else I'm allergic to). Plastic-based clothing. Which includes acrylic... & polyester. I would have never survived the 70s.

My work shirts that are supplied by the company are 100% polyester. After 3 months of not being able to figure out why my skin is always so broken out, itchy, & looking like I was at the wrong end of a BDSM meeting, I finally look at the label. Yeah, it took me 3 months. I'm not a smart person. Don't look at me in that tone of voice.

So, anyway. Dr's note, management meetings, corporate meetings, meetings with higher-up-the-food-chain. Eventually, I'm told "just get some white shirts until we figure out what to do". Ok, neat.

I get to go clothes shopping.

I'm the one woman in the area that fucking hates clothes shopping.

Two weeks later, my shirts arrive in the mail, they fit (thank god), as does the new bra I had to get (bc I'm not wearing a black bra under a white shirt. This ain't a Britney Spears music video..)

My first shift was yesterday. Coworkers are being especially nice to me, but I brush it aside.

Get to the bathroom at the end of my lunch break, & that's when I notice it.

My bra is visible.

... oh god...

I don't have the ability to go home & put on an undershirt, so I just tough it out.

Right up until a customer asks "are you working for tips?"

Dude gets a rather malicious glare, & chooses the option to walk away before my mouth forgets that there's rules about explaining, in detail, how easy it is to peel someone's intestines out thru their belly button.

Thankfully, I'm off today, so I can hide in relative safety. But I did text my boss about it, & asked her "why didn't you tell me my bra was visible??"

And all she said was "bc I try not to look at your boobs, but since you've given me permission, I'll keep an eye on them from now on."

... she's lucky I love her...

Speaking of malicious glares, Ivan wasn't happy that I was up so late last night, but I had a lot of writing that needed to be caught up on. Around 3am, he staged a protest.
