Imgur I need your help!!

I get migranes pretty frequently. According to doctors I'm just prone to them. They don't know why. I just want to know how you guys deal with them. Any tricks to reduce the pain at all? I feel like I'm losing my mind.

Chamomile tea, Excedrin, and sleep.

I had them frequently until someone recommended magnesium. 400mg a day and I've been migraine free for months.

Sex and if you can't get that, masturbation. I'm not even joking around.

For a small percentage of people this actually makes it worse. Unfortunately i am one of those.

There is a trigger, you just have not found it yet.

For a while they were testing LSD as a possible cure. Sounds weird butl you might talk to a neurologist about experimental treatments.

Look for food triggers. Mine can be caused by sugar, fatty foods, and decalf coffee.

Most of mine were because of gluten but it only took them away for a couple months.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've found having a caffeinated beverage helps me.

You should see a neurologist if they're that frequent.

Yep, ask for 2 referrals.

Ix don't have a family doctor so I've been having troubles getting into one. Been trying though.

I dated a girl with the same problem. I left her because she was a pain in the ass.

Well then you are an ass.

Oxygen therapy works for some. Other than that or (expensive) prescription medication you just need to avoid triggers.

Like just an oxegyn tank?

Two double-blind studies have shown that magnesium supplementation may reduce the frequency of migraine. Works for a friend of mine.

Usually some pot. Massage to relax the muscles. If its more forward (pain closer to the eyes) try a drk room with pc off and just some sound

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've never smoked it. For some reason the thought of it makes me feel uncomfortable.

Excedrin migraine helps when I feel them coming on. They've got a bit of caffeine. After the nausea hits little helps. I hide in a dark room

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not sure what excedrin is

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's an over the counter pain pill.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pain killer? I'm from Canada so we may have different drugs. I have a bleeding disorder so I can't take blood thinners.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are medications that can help, aren't there? Also things like Yoga can help I bet. I had migraines caused in part by food allergy.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can't take most pain killers as they are boold thinners and I already can't clot my blood.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Everyone seems to suggest gettin' it on. Either with yourself or with another. Can't say that worked for me though.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Makes it worse for me actually.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you looked into food allergy? Start experimenting with the common ones first. My mom gets them from mushrooms. I get them from milk.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's all in your head.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I can't tell if this was supposed to be a pun or if you are just an idiot.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Botox actually helps. See a Dr.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Intersted. I'll look into it.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lots of water, sunglasses

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sleeping maskes. :P

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Didn't they find that LSD helped? I'm not just being stupid (although I am stupid) but I feel like I read that somewhere.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That was the TV show House that said that.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, it was a documentary I was watching. A guy was so bad that he was going through entire oxygen tanks to ease the pain.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The long term effects of lsd don't seem worth it to me.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've heard caffeine pills. Opens up the blood vessels and helps headaches...not sure about migraines though.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They do help take off some of the edge.

Birth control gave me migraines for years, something about the hormones. You might check into that, I'm much better now.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am not on birth control.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Your hormones might still be out of whack, estrogen can be weird...

Peppermint essential oil rubbed all over your forehead and temples. also, look into cutting gluten, that significantly reduced my migraines.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

These both help, up vote for awareness.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All of these techniques worked for me also,

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I will tey the peppermint oil though. Where do you get it?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I got mine online from Young Living, but a health food store should carry them. DoTerra is a good brand, too.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks. I'll go grab some this week.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've been gluten free for 6 months now. That stopped it for about 4 months but they came back.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You could be accidentally ingesting gluten. Lots of food you wouldn't expect to have it contains gluten. Check ingredients!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Definitely wasn't that it feels different and I didn't spend any time on the toilet.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Another possibility could be stress. I know my stress gets so bad I get a foggy feeling in my head. Been like that for years.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Water, orgasm, painkillers, CONSTANT HYDRATION, regular exercise, and a tiny bit of caffeine from time to time

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

when I get migraines I put an ice pack on my temple (that's where most of my pain is)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cold is one of my triggers (sucks because I live in Canada) but heat on the back of my neck helps a bit.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ooh, that sucks. I also found out mine were caused by me needing glasses, maybe get your eyes checked? My doctor never suggested it

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tried that. I do know my triggers.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, well, I'm out of ideas then, sorry =( hopefully other people can help more.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just need away to bring down the pain.
