Mojito tax. He had a raging fever and was lethargic when I woke up this morning and we made an emergency trip to the vet. His entire body was hot to the touch, something I've never experienced before, and my vet is taking good care of him with fluids. Blood tests showed nothing, so we're doing preventative anti-inflammatories, more fluids, and monitoring until morning.
I miss my boy and his brothers are confused as to where he's gone.
I'm sure he'll be okay...
RIP my wallet, though
Update (copy+paste): Holy shit, we have an answer for Momo and as he's an indoor cat, it's super rare. He has microplasm, which means he was bit by a mosquito who got him sick. I haven't seen seen mosquitos in the house! So the one that managed to get in immediately found him and made him sick. The vet said we caught it SUPER early because I was so diligent (she had another one recently and it was almost a bad ending), he's not even anemic yet (which happens with this illness) and she's keeping him possibly until end of day tomorrow, just to make sure (she sent the other one home and then a 180 hit and kitty got bad again). But we have an answer and they are starting him on meds immediately.

I feel yr words OP, sometimes you do just need some comfort food when ur experiencing something stressful. Take care of yrself, & kitty too!

I hear ya. My cat Jules had dental surgery Monday and hasn't eaten since. This morning the vet gave him fluids, a painkiller and an anti-anxiety med, and there's no change. Tomorrow he may have to go inpatient. May both our kitties come out healthy!

Oh no! Get well soon, Jules 💙

Update added! It's highly unusual for indoor cats but he caught a sickness off a mosquito!
trhopkins
Wow! but he's is okay right?

Hopefully the meds work but the vet says we can't rush anything. There's a chance she might keep him for a few days instead of just overnight

I know he is not going to be happy about that but as long as he gets better. It's a good thing. im sure he doesn't feel like running around anyway

He actually perked up the moment we were in the vet and if not for his crazy fever, I would have been made a liar. He was purring and headbutting and walking around.
Everyone is amitten with him haha
