Here are some of my animal friends. I have more, but these are the ones that visit most when I'm out writing on my porch.

This is Peanuts. He is a blue jay.

He's still skittish and I want him to stay that way, he will only let me within a few feet of him, probably because he knows I'm disabled and cant move faster than he can react, he sits there and teases our cats on their catio because he knows they're not able to get out.

My kids and husband can't be on the porch or he won't visit other than on top of the porch looking down at me where they can't reach.

You can tell how chill he is because the spike on the top of his head is laid down. He's standing right in front of the catio with one of my cats out on it here. He knows he's safe. I've seen him with it up lots, when my kids are around, when we first got the catio, when people walk by. But he knows he's safe on my porch. He can see 360 and has plenty of space to escape if needed.

Here is Peanuts in his tree. He doesn't live in this tree, it just seems to be his favorite. He is waiting for me to throw him a peanut.

Here is Peanuts about to grab a peanut and fly off. I toss a few in the yard sometimes as a treat, but he also likes to take the seeds from my sunflowers. I don't give those to him, though. They are part of my wild garden that feeds all sorts of wild friends.

I try to keep the peanuts as just a treat to encourage him to continue to feed himself.

This is Jacques the cardinal.

And this is Marie, Jacques' wife.

I don't know how my son and I decided on their names.

This feeder has sunflower seeds in it, but Peanuts can't get to it because he seems to be too big. That's why I use it, for the smaller birds

These two are house sparrows, they're around but I don't personally know them yet.

I believe these are house finches? They're named Scarlett and Redd. They clearly think I'm a safe person, because they got my attention and took me to rescue their baby when it landed on my catio, I assume they were scared my cats would get it.

They now also chill on my porch near me seemingly fearless.

Their baby. I named it Birdie Sanders because of the "hair"

This is Squirrelly Boy's kid. You may be thinking "well, that's obviously not a female squirrel's name" but we didn't know that before naming her. She also likes the peanuts.

Cat tax, this is our catio with the PurrPuff Girls, from top to bottom: Blossom, Buttercup, Bubbles. They're local celebrities to people who regularly walk past our home.

They hate nights and bad weather days when we have the window closed, but we have too many nocturnal creatures too bad of weather a lot of the year (Michigan) to feel safe allowing them out there.

Aww, I love that you're friends with wild birbs! That's so cool. And Birdie Sanders is obviously the best name ever.

What fun! We have a pair of cardinals we named Red and Ginger. We think there might be a baby. They are skiddish and I haven't been able to get my hammock out to photograph them all together.
