#9 Gotta paint everything out except NYC, LA, and that one weird mountain in Wyoming.

#6 Two things... 1st. I LOVE that Pluto is on this Voyager as a planet PERMANENTLY!! 2nd. If alien intelligence follows the map are they going to think we developed spaceflight before clothing?? Cause that would probably seem weird. Especially if they read some of our dumber literature. "Yeah they sent that out 100 years ago, but since then they ate this damned apple..."

#8 Commander Shepard be like

#11 I just want someone to write a short story, screenplay, or whole book, of my idea for a story:

"After Earth's 6th mass extinction event, the only thing remaining of our world is RealPlayer, somehow still installed on a reformatted & empty PC. The aliens who found it still curse the day when they, hoping to find out more about our long gone civilization, installed it on their spaceships."

That’s a WarCrime in 398 galaxies ;)

I cannot (will not) exercise in the last decade+ for various reasons (mostly lazy). But runners high is definitely real. The endorphins and adreline that pumps thru your veins bc out primitive brain thinks we're being chased by a predator is super intense.

#2 this meme makes no sense

There is overlap between most of these points

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nowhere is it stated that the graph is based on fitting each individual episode into one category. They could be splitting how much of each category is used.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#2 I'm sure some would overlap.

#10 Which is why Klaatu eventually delivers his message to a physics professor. Politician is not the only type of leader.

#6 the aliens are just mad that our mixtape burned their spaceship down.

#1 Why would someone not believe in Aliens? There's over 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe. Multiply that by the hundreds of billions of solar systems within each galaxy, and the odds that alien life doesn't exist are mathematically almost an impossibility. There's probably more planets with life than grains of sand on our planet. Runner's High is about as believable as some redneck in West Virgina being abducted by a spaceship and anally probed though.

Just because there's an abundance, the size of the universe and distance between system/galaxies, etc... that actually makes it unlikely to be a common occurrence. Or at least with our current understanding of physics.

#7 I have been using this word 'It-aliens' about Italians for years... because they're so funking out of control (if you ever hear a screaming crying crazy tourist at 3am outside your flat in London it's ALWAYS an Italian person)

#9 District 9 is in South Africa.

#9 Unless it's Doctor Who, in which case all alien invasions happen in London for some reason.

#1 Let me tell you about the high runners high

#3 camera artifacts usually don't make a sonic boom no matter how fast they appear to be traveling

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#1 it's real. I've even gotten it from walking, but it takes like 5 hours to kick in from walking.

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

I ran cross country in high school. It's not real.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

I got it once. Just once. But it was amazing, I was floating.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's just a release of endorphins, giving you a euphoric feeling.

If you want something even better, try bottoming for BDSM. You can experience 'sub-space': a sort of out-of-body, mind-altered state resulting from a mix of endorphins, adrenaline, & oxytocin.

You get the excitment, then the euphoria, ending with oxytocin, which provides warm, cuddly feelings, romantic bonding, and sexual arousal.

I think aliens are a certainty. I won't believe in FTL transport until there's a working prototype so the aliens may as well not exist.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If Newton had said human flight was impossible I'd believe Einstein/Relativity might be BS, but that didn't happen.

#1 I used to be a competitive sprinter and I'm still chasing the high of a win

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#3 what's the bottom picture from?

2 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 0

I think it was called “Arrival” and it was fucking dope. Hawkeye is in it too. Pretty sure it’s still on Netflix.

It's from Rhianna seeing cardi Bs gloves made of money one time and saying that line and then the internet took it and put an alien face on it and went with it

2 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

Can I have some of what you're smoking?

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

This is Rhianna reaction to seeing cardi b money gloves. Internet added alien face and ran with it in memes

2 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

But the last picture has a white girl in space, so, whatcha smokin?

Talking about #3. Get glassee

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

OC from the OP, and context too! Thanks!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looked it up on Google. Damn, that must have been heavy. I wonder if that's where the term "drip" came from.

#2 I just watched Our Man Bashir from DS9 last night and they had a transporter mishap and a themed holodeck adventure in one episode. Two stock ST plots in one!

#6 don't forget the custom mixtape

Runners high is real though. Aliens most certainly are real too, but you can get runners high right here on earth.

2 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 3

I don't get it from running, but from other sports. And it's definitely a thing.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I finished my morning run about ten minutes ago; changed and sat down and this is the first thing I see, while definitely still glowingly "high"…wtf!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I ran track and cross country through all of highschool and don’t think I’ve ever once experienced a runners high. Pretty sure this is one of those things that’s different for everyone, otherwise everyone would love running.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

“We got runners high at home” ~mom probably

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only felt it once at 15, started to rain on the way home, so I began running. Pretty fit but began puffing after a while, suddenly I felt almost weightless and full of energy. I practically floated the rest of the way home, (three more blocks)...

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I ran a lot. 10ks, marathons, etc. Only got it once. Like a chill runs through your body, then you feel lighter and like you could run forever. Runner Crash is when you find you cannot run forever.

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

That was you switching from running on carbs to running on fat burning. Ketosis.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

I do not get it, tried for years. Turns out I have a heart murmur and MS.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I managed to get it once in my life while training for a 5k. If I could get it reliably I'd probably still be running. It was a neat experience though.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I ran in many sports and to keep fit in high school, and then ran daily while in the military and often for long stretchs, never got anything other than used to the unpleasant side of running. My buddy was an all American runner in college for track and cross country and in his senior year was running 60-80 miles a week. He has had a runner high twice. So I feel like it's very uncommon in humans and requires a certain level of fitness as well as genetics, cause it was always miserable for me

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ok but...have you done actual drugs? To be able to compare the two?

2 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

Yes. A good runners' high is like a very, very low dose of MDMA, in my experience.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did heroin regularly at 15/16. Also tried cocaine once. Got runners high on MTB marathons later in life. It's not comparable but it's pretty neat. You think you can go on and on forever, there's clarity in your mind but it's hard to explain or to remember afterwards. And it's a lot healthier.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Drugs won't give me stamina or make my legs look shredded, so no.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Hate to break this to a superior drug-free human being like yourself, but one can both recreationally get high and also be shredded at the same time, I and many, many other human beings are living proof

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dawg, have you met a crackhead before? They will literally spend all day removing the roof from your house to get at 3 dollars worth of copper pipe. They burn like 6 months of stamina in a few hours the shut down and hibernate for 18 hours until the next rock arrives.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I had the runners high once on a treadmill. Joints, gummies, shrooms and lsd are easier.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

And also a lot higher. Although weed is pretty similar to the high you get if you go running with low blood pressure.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah. When Im broke, I just squat down, take 3 deep, slow breaths. Then hold the 4th, put my thumb in my mouth and blow hard while standing up.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Runners high is such a blatantly obviously made up thing that it perplexes me that people keep perpetuating it. Some people just like running, and made up some sciency bullshit to describe the feeling of enjoying running. I'm sure I get the same endorphin rush when beating a difficult level in a game because that's how hormones work, but I don't call it 'gamers high'. Actual cringe. Stop pretending that running is enjoyable for most people if you want more people to run.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I think you misunderstood runners high. I ran a lot before, but only experienced runners high two times. It's very rare. I felt slightly drugged, blissful, the running stopped being exhausting, it felt unusually good. However, it lasted for only a few minutes.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hated running, but USMC requirements meant I had to run a lot. I have experienced it.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've experienced it many times. Immediately after a hard 3 mile run where I sprinted for the last 400 meters or so. Once I caught my breath, my body felt really light and energized and I felt happy/giddy for a bit. It is different from just being in a flow state during a run.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you're an experienced runner, you can actually experience the high instead of your body Screaming in pain from running.
