would be robber killed by good guy with a gun
A would-be-robber walked up behind a man in a convenience store in Detroit. pulled a gun and demanded the man empty his pockets. the man drew a handgun he had been carrying concealed(he did not have a CPL) and fired on the robber, the robber was pronounced dead at the scene.
the man was illegally carrying concealed, but customers at the Mobil say he did the right thing.

the man was reported as visibly shaken after the incident, he and the store called the police.

The problem is distinguishing empty threat from real one. The safest assumption is that a gun pointed at you = you are going to die.

I agree. But most criminals are not intending to murder anyone. They want quick accessible cash. Drop your cash and everyone lives.
