We just pictures; even the dogs gave it a sniff and then left it. We were afraid at one point one of the people’s dogs had peed on it but he marked the post next to it I guess, or did nothing.

Thanks :) It has been an old wive's tale, but great grandmother had them around her house and warned us to never touch them, lest the next baby born in the family would be "snatched away".

Luna moth! Very lovely bugs and totally harmless. They actually have no digestive system because at that point in their life cycle their only purpose is to reproduce before death.

If the wings fold up perpendicular to the body it’s a butterfly, if they lie flag against the body it’s a moth.

Yeah, anytime they’re not flying or at rest. Their stowage mechanism as it were differentiates them more than anything else.
