We got a cat when we lived in Germany. Now back in the states, after adopting the dog we’ve realized we’re actually cat people. We’ll love him forever and he will continue to be spoiled, but I think we’ll stick to kitties in the future.

Invest in my new dog-a-pult. One pull of the lever and your dog is now someone else’s problem!

I'm not really into pets. I just don't get that bond other people get but they make my wife and kid happy which makes me happy.

We're the other way 'round. Miss Kitty is fun and will have a good life, but the goal is to move one more time to someplace a dog can love.

That’s sweet. The best you can do is love them as much as possible, even when you don’t like them lol.

It's gonna take him a few more months to train you properly, then it'll feel natural.
mirrarrow
That’s fair lol. It’s definitely an adjustment but we’ll get there.

It's no problem to give up a pet as a mature family choice. Young trained pets can get readopted quickly if you feel it's the best choice.

That’s true! But as annoying and frustrating as he is, he’s my baby now.
Hotsauceman
Give that dog belly rubs right now for your transgressions!
mirrarrow
Will do! He deserves all the love.

I thought this after I pleaded with my husband to let us get a dog (you both have to want one) he finally agreed and we got a spaniel puppy
Bobby360
After a few weeks of her peeing and pooping everywhere I started to think 'what have I done' I'm not sure I even like this animal....
Bobby360
I said nothing as it was my choice and we were stuck with it now. It took months for me to develop a bond with her, but now she is my life!
Bobby360
I did tell him years later how I was feeling, he was shocked and agreed saying nothing prob saved my life :)
Bobby360
I've never told her this tho, obviously

Thats pretty much our situation. We got him at ~4 months old and he had zero training, including potty. It was hard but we’re getting there.
Bobby360
Stick with it, I promise you'll get to the point where you couldn't imagine life without them ?
