Gov can’t cutback inflation - companies set their own prices, and have been reporting record profits for the past couple of years -mainly because they got a lot of nice tax breaks during Trunps term. Corporations have averaged about 25% of single family house buys since 2020, and at current interest rates (which the fed - not the gov) sets builders aren’t going to build lower cost “starter” homes and many developments are being marketed direct to corporations for rentals.
