At the zoo I once saw an absolutely massive male orangutan grab a stick, walk over to a concrete pad that had some chunks of fruit spread out on it and sat down. He then proceeded to use the stick to scooch each piece of fruit into his hand and eat it.
Using a tool for the sheer purpose of laziness made me respect them more than ever.
I don't know much about Orangutans but from what I heard from Casual Geographic an Orangutan would absolutely fold a dude based off of what few past instances.
Seen a few in Maleisia in May quite up close (50ft or so). And yes, I truly believe the paterfamilias could rip you to threads. (It's a sanctuary where they live freely but get fed twice a day to lure them close for the tourists to gawk at them, but they often don't show up if there's enough good food in the rest of the jungle ;) )
Bigger than chimps, so definitely much, much stronger than us. Basically the next step down from a Gorilla. So could quite easily tear you apart if pissed off enough. I believe they are more docile than both though so it is sad they made them fight for out entertainment.
I mean it's kind of sad that something mostly sapient was kept as a slave and made to fight for entertainment, but I also expect that the best part of that orangutan's day was punching the hell out of some uppity human
