In process of kicking cancer's ass!

This is Toby, the goodest of all boys. Been with my wife and I through thick and thin since 2007. He's very loved!

This is a tumor. We noticed this about three weeks ago. At first I thought it was an abscess or infection from embedded thorn or something. It went down for a while, but came back with a vengeance. Angry and red. Time to go to the vet. Vet took blood samples and looked under microscope. Not good, as it was cancerous. But we caught it early, and full body X-rays showed perfectly healthy insides with no tumors.

Here's the good boy post operation. He's a trooper and will be fitted with a cast tomorrow AM, as the removal and sutures closed up a lot of space between joints. Vet did say that if there are traces remaining, we might have to consider amputating foot or leg to stop spread. We'll worry about that when we get to that point. But for now he's resting comfortably overnight at vets, so they can monitor him closely and let the healing process begin. #teamtoby So if you have pets, please love on them extra tonight and give them that extra treat. Their time is short and we're blessed by them. So take time to appreciate your pet companions, and tell them they're loved. As far as cancer goes, it can go fuck itself up the ass with a rusty medieval mace covered in fire ants and salt.
