My towel failed me.
Yesterday I was baking chicken, and when it was done I used a dish towel to grab the baking dish, but the damn towel somehow slipped and I ended up touching the hot metal rack with my thumb. Not a big deal; didn't panic or anything; but long story short I spent all day with my thumb up.
