Getting tired of these
Is it just me, or are these things getting sillier every time someone comes up with a new one.
This one cannot even be answered. And if you try to tell me it's 44, you have to prove to me how.
And for reference, the 'correct' answer being given is 44.

78. If I’m wrong these are dumb. If l’m right however........
Brandy321
can we get grouping here?
FINNSTAR7
Dumbbells normally come with 3 kinds of plates, 2.5kg, 1.25kg, and 0.5kg. A dumbbell with all plates is worth 6. So a dumbbell with
FINNSTAR7
the smallest plates taken off is ~5.294 (90÷17). So, the final equation equals ~50.471 (858/17). 44 is definitely wrong either way though.
PrincessLeliana
Man is 5. Mask is 3. Bell is 6. 12+14x3 14x3=42. 12+42=54.
makesense
Claim is that it is 44 because the dumbbells on the bottom line are missing a weight on each end.
PrincessLeliana
Didn't see that. These things piss me off.
dearbluey
Man(M) = 5. Mask(S) = 3. Dumbells = 1 per weight (W). Bottom images = WWWWWWWW+MSWWWW+S (man holding weights there and in mask). 8+12+3=23.
dearbluey
Except silly me didn't see the multiply symbol. So now I'm getting 44, because 8+(12x3)=44.
makesense
What about the bars?
dearbluey
The bars mean nothing. Just like the man's pants.
schempp37
23 if you can assume that each weight on the dumbbells = 1 and the bars themselves are 0. Otherwise it's fractional and I didn't do it.
makesense
Zero for the bar would be the only way....but that is silly.
schempp37
Unless we accept fractional and make more assumptions. Agree silly.
TheoryofStringyStuff
Multiplication is second operand
schempp37
Oops you're correct, but assumption of 0 bar and 1 per weight is still accurate to get the 44 suggested.
killlface
It's not a real equation. There is nothing to indicate if we add the weights and mask or multiply them.
killlface
Also the the final equation the weight missing some plates.
FINNSTAR7
Convention indicates that you add them.
makesense
Oh, I get that. Typically anything that is added or removed from an image means addition and subtraction.
killlface
If that's the case. 8 + 12 * 3 = 44
makesense
Again, that is assuming that the bars are zero. But that doesn't make sense as zero = nothing when it comes to physical objects.
makesense
In other words, if the bar equals 0, then the weights have nothing to be on.
