This was among the first games I've ever played. Came pre-installed on my first PC (a lot of computers were sold here pre-built by some tech guy that loaded them up with gaming goodies).
This game was ridiculously fun for me back then. I didn't speak English, so I had to fiddle around with the game a lot to learn the basics. Like in most games back then, I had mostly no idea of what I was doing. But it was great fun to learn nevertheless.
All things considered, it still holds up today, and I fell in love with the Dune series because of it.

I read the book after playing this game lol

I loved this game. Of course it was frustrating hitting A or M every time you wanted to issue a single unit an order. But it was still fun.

There is a dune game that is in early access called spice wars. I'm pretty terrible at it, but boy do I keep going back for more. Fun rts.
Aetherblade
Still love the music that this game had.

Played this in high school. Computer science class was mostly just the teacher letting us play games.

Same company eventually made command and conquer. This game was all i ever needed in those days! Birth of a genre stuff here.

Correct. Westwood later expanded this game into Command & Conquer
