So every year mom, sister and I gather one weekend and do the Xmas cookies for the whole family. Over the years family got smaller so in turn has our total haul but imo it still looks cool. There's no banana for scale though...
This year being what it is our gingerbread's got masks and personalities to go with. Credits for facial expressions go to my sis.
2019, 12 kinds, not all are on the pic.
We also had fun decorating that year. I say gingerbread's so it's easier to understand but actually they are honey cookies, medenjaci in my language. Med = honey.
2018, it's really missing a banana, table is big actually. That's the open version, it sits 6 ppl comfortably, 8 if needed.
Serving suggestion, booze not pictured.
2017, I think that was our record year, 14 kinds, almost all double batches. Did a bunch of pralines that year, with different fillings.
Caramel heads.
2016, for some reason I can't find the group photo, so here's the serving suggestion from that year. Same stand, cause I only own one that I take out only for this period, and cause I don't know how to delete the previous pic...
2015, already divided amongst households before deaths, divorces and toxic relations diminished our numbers.
My sis spent a full day decorating this ones that year, in time the process got faster ?.
2014, oldest photo on my phone cause before that I still didn't enter the smartphone world and its just sooo complicated to get up and do this from pc. But yes there are more pics from years past.
Cat tax - my mom n sister recently adopted this 12 year old gold nugget. Here he is begging for food. Name is Zlatko, zlato = gold.
Sheep tax - this is Ofsa & she's our sheep and here she is modelling her new Xmas cap while still wearing the summer dress...

chip banana bread, red velvet cheesecake cookies, and some sugar cookies. I can't decorate them like I want to because I can't find >

meringue powder anywhere! I have a tablespoons-worth, maybe two. Oh well. I hope my peeps like them! Merry Christmas, fellow baker!

Merry Christmas :). Can't you decorate with royal icing? That's how we did it. Meringue powder didn't reach our shores yet :D

I can use egg whites, but then the cookies can't really be left out, because of the risk of Salmonella. My FoodSafe training was brutal...:(

Aha, I get it. Then chocolate decorations are the way to go ;)
