Alexey Navalny, a potent political foe of Russian President Vladimir Putin who survived at least two suspected poisonings, has died in a Russian penal colony.

Russian prison guards claim he slipped, tripped and fell out of a window.
"It is unfortunate case of completely accidental defenestration", said the prison commander.

Democratically elected President Putin ordered an investigation into the matter and it concluded that the special operation in the prison was legal.
